There was a release of Air Jordan wrestling shoes. Does anyone know when these came out? [[User:Jzcrandall|Jzcrandall]] ([[User talk:Jzcrandall|talk]]) 05:26, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Spike Lee

I am not quite sure why someone credited Spike Lee as the designer of the AJ1, but I, along an endless list of sources, are pretty sure that Peter Moore designed them. I changed this fact and the link referencing to it (which was not working anyway). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.238.202.136 (talk) 15:51, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Horrible

Air Jordans are probably some of the most popular shoes in history, and this article is completely unbecoming of their legacy. Horrible article; no pictures, ugly layout. Horrible.

I agree. The sections needs much more effort put into it. It needs some pictures first and foremost. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.72.2.73 (talk) 14:30, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone definitely needs to edit for more encyclopedic language, at the very least explaining the "sneakerhead" slang (e.g. "retroed," "quick strike").Kuahmel (talk) 06:33, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Suffering from its 'white man jogging brand' image, Nike had no credit in the basketball world. The running shoe phenomenon that had fueled their sales in previous years was slowly dying, and they needed a way to revitalize and reinvent themselves in order to appeal to another segment of the market. That is when Nike saw something special in the rookie player Michael Jordan, they saw a chance, an opportunity." -- Seriously? This is some of the worst writing I've seen on Wikipedia, at least on an article of this length and importance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.2.228.192 (talk) 20:20, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that almost all of this article is taken, with some minor modifications to the language and some colorful opinions mixed in, from http://www.nicekicks.com/air-jordans/air-jordan-1/ . Whoever wants to should basically cut out the dumb additions and then cite that page.

Contribution help?

I notice I'm the only one contributing to this page, and I can only do so every now and then. The others that "contribute" only valdalize and delete my work from the page. Please refrain from doing so. --BkBlade 16:59, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sky Jordans?

Weren't they originally called Sky Jordans? I swear I had a pair when I was a kid that said Sky Jordan on them rather than Air Jordan. quadratic 06:11, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the kids sizes were sky jordans. mens sizes were air jordans.

or did you have Sky High Jordans? Sky High Air Jordans

Stolen

Google search for a portion of this article

This entire page is stolen from those sites. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Indolences (talkcontribs) February 6, 2006.

why the change in format

this used to have pics of each shoe and stuff. i remember it being a much detailed article. frankly, it sucks ass now. why the change?--Jaysscholar 01:49, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, what the heck

This article is really cheesey. It seems it was written by someone working for an ad company, an MJ fanboy, or someone who like shoes way too much. There are also a few spelling errors.

Yup. Everything from the opening blurb down is a POV mess. Tony Myers 22:23, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I came here hoping for more info on people murdered for shoes and other sports fashion, and the use of fashions by drug dealers.[1] --Singkong2005 talk 05:09, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well then you appear to have a morbid view of sports sneakers Singkong, however the article is a mess as of now and needs a lot of work particularly in the area of citing it's sources and verifying what appears to be some original research claims. Quadzilla99 18:43, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed a on Air Jordans link which was pointed towards http://www.techcomglobal.com which provided NO Air Jordan release Dates (and is a commercial site) and pointed the link to its original destination which was to NiceKicks.com's comprehensive list of Air Jordan Release Dates.

This link is not being added for commercial purposes but rather as supplimental information readers would be interested in. Since Air Jordan Release Dates change very frequently as well as the details (Product ID, Price, Date, and official pictures) it would be much more efficient for the information to be updated in one place with confirmed information. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.112.77.205 (talkcontribs).

That there are other sites that do not comply with WP:EL and WP;SPAM is not a good reason to insert even more policy-violative links. The remedy is to remove those sites that you think don't belong. How does your site comply with WP:EL and WP:SPAM? --Nlu (talk) 04:44, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

We should find pictures. Anyone have any good ones we can use? (Furiousgeorgey13 21:12, 28 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I agree with many of the users on this page about the need for more pictures. I have a few pair that I can take pictures of and upload. (lala3groove Lala3groove (talk) 19:31, 6 November 2012 (UTC) —Preceding undated comment added 19:28, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is another website called http://www.sneakerfiles.com and has a very update Air Jordan Release Dates. I have seen it added, but taken down. I do not understand why this is, since its real information, I am not just promoting my site, All Air Jordan Release Dates are there. Check for yourself: http://www.sneakerfiles.com/air-jordan-release-dates

dubz

we needed more info on the dubz which when i first saw had on info on them .

Air Jordan XI

They were not inspired by Tuxedo Shoes. They were inspired by a car. The patent leather was meant to replicate the look of chrome.

This article needs some serious polishing.

selling

where does one sell jordans online? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.226.188 (talk) 23:04, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List might be too exhaustive

If one is gonna do a comprehensive description of each model, maybe a page for each should be considered? If not, it should definitely be shortened. Right now, this entry reads like a Wikipedia page for a car.Kuahmel (talk) 02:49, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jordan Brand: Change to or Separate?

While this article largely covers the Air Jordan line of shoes, there is a lot of Jordan Brand related information. Either this article should be retitled Jordan Brand, or a separate article should be created for the Jordan Brand. Any thoughts? heat_fan1 (talk) 13:22, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't the title "Air Jordan" already referring to the brand? Or does "Air Jordan" only refer to the shoes? -- œ 00:20, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The shoes, really. The brand is "Jordan". heat_fan1 (talk) 03:41, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well the majority of the article still seems to be dealing with the shoes. But you could always file a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves and see what people will say. -- œ 21:18, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

It will be very interesting to see pictures against those roman numerals? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.190.88.35 (talk) 20:26, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Team Jordan

If any of the wikipedia editors weren't Fucking Stupid they would go the team jordan official website and realize that half of the wikipedia page listed members of Team Jordan ARE NOT TEAM JORDAN MEMBERS. I already tried to edit it correctly based on the the official team jordan website but my edits got deleted for NO reason (I had correct formatting and listed members).

Can you link me to the diff of the edit you tried to make? -- œ 12:27, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind, I already updated it according to the website. Please remember to be civil next time if someone reverts you by mistake. -- œ 12:48, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Air Jordan Flight Sc 1

The Air Jordan Flight SC-1 borrows features from other Air Jordan models. The sole comes from the Air Jordan 3 while laceholders look similar to the ones on the Air Jordan IV. But lets focus on the details of this colorway. This colorway of the Flight SC-1 features a upper made mostly of smooth white leather. Varsity Red is seen on the midsole and eyelets while the outsole comes in black. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrsz (talkcontribs) 20:26, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures?

The only way to make this article better is that everyone contributes, edits it, and tries to fix it - not just complain about it. This is a call to other editors to put in an effort. I'm taking photos of pairs that I own, but surely there are other people who own pairs that I don't. So everyone, take photos of the missing pairs and put them in the article.--ric_man (talk) 01:28, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

dismal success

At the start of the article in the piece about the first air jordan there is a phrase: "In 1994 the Air Jordan 1 was re-released with dismal success." I am not a native English speaker but i think that calling something a dismal success is not proper English. I propose replacing "dismal success" with "dismal failure" or something similar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.97.224.169 (talk) 20:21, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Was there a year the shoe did not have the swoop on it.

Question was there a year that they jordan shoe did not have a swoop on it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.172.138.106 (talk) 23:43, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan Diaz??

The article states that the shoes were developed and endorsed by Nathan Diaz. Please correct it to reflect Michael Jordan.
