::HC ranking is below GT rating, and below WT category: there are 14 stage races that are regarded as more important. Not major races, same category as VDK-Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde, Presidential Tour of Turkey, Exergy Tour or Quingai Lake. Being his first win does not make it a major race. Moved to South Africa aged 14

From article in The Telegraph: [1] - Froome’s Kenyan background features English grandparents who emigrated to run a farm and a father who branched out into running safaris. The family moved to South Africa when he was 14 and it is there that he received his introduction to cycling, moved from mountain biking to “road racing on those things with thin tyres” as he puts it. Major wins in infobox

I would contend that the Tour of Oman is a recent addition to the cycling calendar, and a early season conditioning event that is not a major focus of anybody's season. It is not a major race, therefore victory in it is not a major win, and it should not be noted in the infobox. It should, of course, be in the palmares section of the article.
