Frietjes, I thank you for doing it as it means one less for me to fix.

second time likely employee of IIROC is vandalizing their page by removing content

Please take a look at the removal of three sourced sections by this IP address and let me know if you agree this is an "Unexplained removal of content". You reversed the last one by this user.

I am guessing 96.49.212.106 must be a direct employee or contracted company working for IIROC.

Re: Question about My id.

                                                                               24th of July 2013

Hi James12345/ bracket bot,

I'm writing you regarding my id, when I enter my id and email it says that my id has been taken, but that's just not true, I created that ID back in the days of Old Basic, long before it became Visual Basic.

I want to know why I cannot log in now, my id is B1N4RYGH0ST and I've entered every single one of my email addresses in a bid to retrieve my password, but it says that there is no email address associated with this id. Then I go to remake my account and I'm told that my ID is taken. This ID goes back to 1989. Please fix this error, as I do not want my IP address being used each and every time I write Wikipedia. I ask this question 1 or 2 days ago and received no answer. And I also asked why the Zionist are being allowed to make edits to whatever they want, they're even laughing at the fact that the Balfour Declaration is almost out of date, and I copied and pasted the words in Hebrew to you, and I took the time to go to Google translate and had it translated and I put that in my message to you.

Please answer this message as soon as possible, because I want to be able to log in as soon as possible. I recent the fact that my ID, My own ID which is over 20yrs old has been used all over the internet as well as registering software that I purchased at computer stores in my area. Please rectify this error and let me know when it's safe to log in again.

Regards,

B1N4RYGH0ST. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.41.17.123 (talk) 18:09, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I replied the last time, but the reply was archived.
User:B1N4RYGH0ST likely isn't your ID. Wikipedia has no way of knowing what you used this ID for in 1989; Wikipedia did not exist back then. You may have created the ID at that time, but you cannot have created a Wikipedia account at that time. User:B1N4RYGH0ST was created in 2007, and it seems likely that you weren't the one who did so. Thus you cannot log into that account - you're effectively trying to hijack someone else's account.
The good news is that there is a way to resolve this issue. The current User:B1N4RYGH0ST hasn't made any contributions. Thus you can Template:Sec link with a different username, and after you have edited with that account for a few months, when we can see it's worth the effort, you can ask to usurp the B1N4RYGH0ST username and have your account renamed to that ID.
We allow everybody to edit Wikipedia as long as the users comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, without regard for a user's political or religious persuasion (though Wikipedia demands a neutral point of view and should not be used as a soapbox to promote such a persuasion). You should also assume good faith, especially when dealing with a machine translation of a language you don't speak yourself. For all I can tell, the Hebrew image description doesn't say anything about the Balfour Declaration being "almost out of date", much less did anybody laugh about it; rather, it says something about "the late [dead] Lord Balfour and his famous declaration". Whatever the Declaration's status, Balfour himself certainly is dead, and I don't see how that description could be seen as "Zionists laughing at something". You may want to ask someone who actually speaks Hebrew for a better translation than the one provided by Google. Huon (talk) 12:44, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment/question: Hi, I was doing vandal patrol, fixed the anon's messing with the page, went to the talk page and saw a note from your bot about bracket syntax. I totally understand that your bot has a specific purpose, and that it's not an anti-vandal bot, but perhaps there would be a way to add in some sort of filter which would allow it to recognize that the edit should be reverted. But then again, I don't know that your bot has permission for that. Just a thought anyway. Cheers.

Wine Guy~Talk 22:10, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe my answers on this page give a lopsided image, but I'd say that far too often it's either a false positive or a minor issue as part of a larger good-faith edit to tag these edits for reversal. Huon (talk) 00:23, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply, makes perfect sense to me. I think it was ClueBot (or similar) that tagged it for human review anyway, that's how I came across it in the first place. What would WP do without our bot army? Thanks again. -Wine Guy~Talk 13:36, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment/question: BracketBot detected unpaired brackets in a ref tag using the cite web template. The link in the references goes to a Twitter, and when viewing a single tweet, the title of the page (document.title) is the beginning of that single tweet. The tweet that I referenced is surrounded in parentheses, but the document title is truncated, so the closing parenthesis is absent from the page title. I hope that clears up why there is an unclosed single parenthesis in the article. Thanks.
