I'm also from the Worcester area and was always well aware that he is still one of the best athletes to ever come through here. No mention that he was an absolute force in college at the running back position? I'm 99% sure he graduated with the NCAA DI career record for most rushing yards (topping Ron Dayne?). It's great to hear he's of such great character. Thanks for the link to his foundation.12.30.28.14 (talk) 20:17, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I attended St. Peter-Marian Jr. Sr. Catholic High School with Jerry Azumah in Worcester, MA. Jerry and I worked together in a brutal class called Analytical Writing/History with a professor/lawyer whom wrote the textbook for the class. Jerry is a very bright person. He and I were also on the school's Track & Field team. From my perspective, being in good shape as the captain of the school's Cross-Country running team, I saw Jerry as the fastest and most naturally gifted athlete ever. I still feel that way after being in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jerry and I were also on the Yearbook Committee in 1994-1995 and I have an authentic autographed signature of his that was later placed in the yearbook for his graduating class of 1995. It was signed "Jerry Azumah - Crazy Horse #24." I recall our Annual Thanksgiving Football games against local powerhouse St. John's Prep. Jerry ran all over the field, making the other team look like 5th graders against a Barry Sanders/Michael Irving threat. There was simply no answer for his capacity of heart and sheer athleticism. Several years ago, I was visiting St. Peter-Marian to see an old teacher of mine and I happened to bump into Jerry, whom was with his father at the time. Jerry recognized me immediately and asked how I was doing. He didn't need to say anything. He's genuinely a nice guy. He had braces on at the time and told me that he had just bought his parents a new home in Worcester. It was exciting to see his career at UNH and in the NFL, especially transitioning successfully from Offense to Defense. As a Cornerback, he's lethal. As a kick-returner he's unstoppable. It saddens me to hear, however, that he had a neck injury in 2004 and missed his 2005 season with what could be a career ending hip injury. Hopefully he'll be "Crazy Horse" once again. He has an educational foundation named ASAP which help all types of youths find their dreams through education. Here's the link: http://www.azumahallpro.com/content/foundation.cfm.
