Australian rules football season
The 84th season of the Northern Football League was held in 2010.
2010 season
The 2011 NFL season contained three divisions for the first time in the leagues history. A ten team Division 1, eight team Division 2 and a seven team Division 3. The 2009 Division 2 Premiers Macleod was promoted to Division 1, whilst Thomastown was relegated to Division 2 after finishing in bottom place. Parkside won the 2009 Division 3 premiership but were not promoted as the Division 3 competition had only been active from half way through the 2009 season when Division 2 split. This also meant that no Division 2 team was relegated.
The fixture for the 2011 NFL season is not a random selection of matches, but rather is planned by the NFL. The season will run for 18 rounds (including a split round) plus 5 weeks of finals.
