I think merging is the logical solution. Aylan Kurdi was not a noteworthy person, so there should not be two separate articles.

Photo

Someone should upload a photo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.92.226.166 (talk) 16:39, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rename the article to Photography of Aylan Kurdi

As it is the photography that has been widely published worldwide.--BabbaQ (talk) 21:58, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Norwegian article is called "The Photos of Aylan Kurdi's corpse". --Burst of unj (talk) 22:14, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
BabbaQ has opened a can of worms. Someone might say that Kurdi's death is not notable, but that the Reactions to the photos of Aylan Kurdi's corpse or the photos of the corpse are. --Burst of unj (talk) 22:21, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Washed ashore or apparently/reportedly washed ashore

One photo has the boy lying in wet sand, or in the surf. Investigation will have to ascertain that he actually was washed ashore. (Witness testimony says that the child was lost at sea. Later he was discovered on the beach by a fisherman.) --Burst of unj (talk) 22:13, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A fisherman found the corpse before the photos were taken. The article should say if the fisherman found the child in the surf or on the beach. (Tide might have relocated the corpse slightly after it was found by the fisherman.) --Burst of unj (talk) 22:37, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reactions section

I've just added some text about the reaction to the picture, since previously the article had a section titled 'Criticism of the general public's responses to the picture' without saying what 'the general public's responses to the picture' actually were. I also cut down the quote from Brendan O'Neill that was previously there - the length of it raised WP:NPOV and WP:Fair use issues. We only need to include enough text to give a sense of the article, not quote from it at length. Robofish (talk) 23:41, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Photos of Aylan Kurdi's corpse
