St. Martin's Episcopal School is a diocesan private PK–12 college preparatory school in Metairie, Louisiana, a suburb in Greater New Orleans. It is affiliated with St. Martin's Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. The school also operates George Cottage, an early childhood program for infants and children up to age 3, after which they may opt to join the main school.

Mission

We prepare students to thrive in college and in life through faith, scholarship and service.[1]

History

Founded in 1947, St. Martin's is the first Episcopal school established in the area. It was originally a parish elementary school located on the grounds of its namesake church but moved to the current campus along Airline Drive in 1950 to accommodate the growing number of students. A high school was added to meet the demand and the first high school seniors graduated in 1951. Ownership of the school was transferred to the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana during the 1960s.[2] The early childhood daycare program, George Cottage, was opened in 2004 and takes infants aged 12-months to 3 years.[3]

Organization

St. Martin's comprises three divisions:

  • Lower School (PK5)
  • Middle School (68)
  • High School (912)

Notable alumni

The school's alumni include:
