When the US decided to boycott the 1980 Olympic games Woodward Camp expanded its camp programing to include [[BMX racing]]. The BMX program quickly grew and the facilities were expanded to include ramps. The word of an action sports facility in central Pennsylvania traveled quickly and skateboarders and aggressive [[inline skater]]s were drawn to Woodward as action sports hit the main stream with the blow up of the [[X-Games]]. Using its gymnastics knowledge by including foam pits and resi landings, Woodward offers first class facilities for action sports.
