Dr. Panda Games (formerly TribePlay)[1] is an independent Dutch/Chinese video game development studio focused on creating educational applications for kids on smartphones and tablets, and based in Chengdu.[2] The company's series of Dr. Panda games includes more than 20 apps that attempt to provide basic life skills by simulating real-life activities such as grocery shopping, cooking, airline travel and others. The games are found on platforms including iOS, Android and Windows Phone.[3] The applications have been installed over 40 million times.[2][4] In 2014, Dr. Panda’s Toy Cars was the #1 educational app on the App Store in 14 countries,[4] and was ranked #11 in The Guardian's best Android apps for children list.[5] In 2015, Apple Inc. named Dr. Panda's Restaurant 2 as its "App of the Week".[6]
