== Would you please adopt me? ==

Dear Mr Guye-

I feel as though I have been ejected from Titanic and him desperately looking for some flotsam to hold onto.

This is my first attempt at publishing a wiki article. It has gotten more and more convoluted since I started several weeks ago.

I have read all of the guidelines/do's and don'ts/God help you if we catchya's...

Would you please adopt me? I am a very bright intelligent person, a professional writer, self-described a grammar Nazi and vocabulary strumpet. It's just I am tripping myself up on very basic editing efforts that should not in any way be taking me this long for this much effort to figure out. I am frustrated with the tutorials because they seem to endlessly link to other pages. Trying to avoid source editing and keep it basic and simple.

My situation-I was asked to rewrite and update an existing wiki entry. A couple of weeks ago I did. Now I have been asked to add several pictures and expand upon a couple of sections. Somehow, I messed up the source editing, and the article was all catty wompus dis-formatted. a user, via the help desk, assisted me in restoring the article; however it was restored to the original addition, which existed before I joined the project.

Now I am terrified to do anything because I am afraid I will throw the current article into a similar state of disarray. I think I can test edit the article somewhere... my sandbox? so much of the wiki terminology is foreign to me and I am getting frustrated because I can usually grasp a better than average understanding of a program.

My goals are pretty simple for this article; while technically it is my first wiki article, I have a well-written, unbiased, non-advertisement article ready to go. Could you please, pretty please, help me achieve that?

Most sincerely,
Kimber O.

Please suggest more specifically what needs to be changed. Maybe, one or two examples in the same article will give me a better idea.
