Banning in the Republic of Ireland

In the Reception section it states, "The film was banned in the Irish Republic because it showed a priest having a relationship with a woman (even though, in the film, the relationship takes place before the character becomes a priest)." This is a misrepresentation of the citation which says no such thing. It must be remembered tat although Fr. Michael had no romantic relationship with Ruth since his ordination, she admitted to the police that she was still in love with him after his ordination and this would have been grounds for banning the film in the very Catholic country of the 1950s.
