I'm not certain about this upload. This editor has a history of repeatedly uploading copyrighted images and claiming them as their own. This image alone is clearly cropped from somewhere else. Ricky81682 (talk) 01:16, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free image being used in Irish presidential inauguration, Erskine Hamilton Childers#Career and President of Ireland#Inauguration. A non-free use rationale is provided for each use, but I doN't see how any of these usages satisfy WP:NFCC#8. The photo itself is not specifically the subject of any sourced commentary within any of the articles, so the context required by NFCC#8 is lacking. Usage in each article appears to be mainly (as File:Irishpres.jpg#Summary claims) "to show ceremonial inauguration of the President of Ireland" which is basically saying that the file is used for decorative purposes. Moreover, a non-free image is not needed at all for this purpose in "President of Ireland" and "Irish presidential inauguration" because it is possible (per WP:NFCC#1) for a freely licensed equivalent to be created which serves the same purpose. There are two freely licensed photos of inaugurations in c:Category:Presidential inaugurations of Ireland which could possibly serve the same purpose. So I suggest remove for "Irish presidential inauguration" and "President of Ireland".

The usage in "Erskine Hamilton Childers" also appears primarily decorative and thus failing NFCC#8. It may be possible, however, for these concerns to be addressed if content specifically discussing the inauguration and this photo supported by reliable sources is added to the article. Otherwise, I suggest remove from "Erskine Hamilton Childers" as well.

The file was also being used in Rita Childers, but I removed it per WP:NFCCE since the separate, specific non-free use rationale required by WP:NFCC#10c was not provided that particular usage. I don't feel a valid rationale can be written for the article per NFCC#8 since unless the image itself is the subject of sourced commentary within the article.

The source given for the image is the National Archives of Ireland. I don't believe the photo is old enough to qualify as public domain per {{PD-Ireland}} or {{PD-IrelandGov}}. If there's a way to convert it to a free license, however, it would no longer be subject to WP:NFCC.

Finally, the file is licensed as {{Non-free poster}} which seem incorrect to me, since it looks more like an old photo than an old poster. Perhaps it should be {{Non-free historic image}}, so that should probably be fixed if the file's non-free use is determined to be acceptable in any of the above-mentioned articles. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:09, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete I uploaded this file WAY back before I knew more about the ins and outs of copyright (I had only been editing Wikipedia for several months at the time). I now know that this is not free, and besides, there are now a bunch of free-licensed pics of Leonardi (which I've taken myself) available in his Commons category page. Sorry for the copyvio. Is this image eligible for copyright? If so, I don't mind it being deleted per Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 April 29#File:Madonna - I Want You.JPG. If not, shall it be transferred to Commons? Is this logo eligible for copyright? It has a rectangle, a circle, and two triangles, which would have been enough for copyright in the UK. However, the record label is American, so the logo should be an American work. The US jurisdiction puts the originality threshold higher than the logo itself. Therefore, it should be transferred to Commons, but the previous version must have been larger, so the larger version should be transferred instead. George Ho (talk) 08:17, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why this image is needed other than to identify itself as the 1994 US rerelease of the song. I removed it because there is already the original 1992 artwork, but then Aspects reinserted it. Moreover, the uploader is inactive. Therefore, rather than the talk page, this venue seems more effective to discuss the use of this 1994 front cover. Then the administrator can decide what to do with this image.
