Luhara is a village in the Chhaprauli constituency of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It is located in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, India.[1] It is famous[citation needed] for the Banasura temple in the heart of village. It is sometimes called "Sherpur Luhara". Sherpur is nearby village of Luhara. It falls under the tehsil of Baraut.

History
According to legend, this place is related to the demon Bana (also called Banasura): the Baba banasur chatri temple in the village is connected to this belief. Some of the villagers believe that their village's God comes every Sunday to bless them.
People migrated here from the Indus valley[when?][citation needed]. According to local sources[which?], migrating people stopped here due to Food and Fodder availability, which they attributed to the blessing of Baba banasur chatri at this place. Only a very few old people knows that the Yaksha prashan were asked from Yudhister, the elder son of king Pandava in "MAHABHARAT" by Yaksha here at the place located between Luhara and Chandanheri village. The name luhara was derived from "LUHAR" means Blacksmith community which was supposed to live here at a very old time along with "MANIHARS" means "Bangle sellers".
Geography
It is located at 10 km from Baraut, 60 km from Delhi, the National Capital via NH-57, and 45 km from the district "Shamli". Luhara is in the "Baghpat" district, and is situated 30 km from district headquarters "Baghpat".
Climate
This village has a good climatic condition due to its location far away from any industry and availability of enough trees and plants.
Agriculture
The main industry of the village is agriculture: the main crops are Rice, wheat, bajra, maize, and sugarcane, with sugarcane being the main source of income. A sugarcane mill was set up by "KN MODI"[clarification needed] with the help of Choudhary Charan Singh[citation needed], former Prime Minister of India and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Saroha (gotra)
Saroha (सरोहा), Saroa (सरोआ) or Siroha (सिरोहा) gotra of Jāti live in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Pakistan. They are followers of Shiva, and are considered to be Shivagotri. The full name of the gotra is CHAUDAHRANASAROHA (14 in Hindi). Agroha is a derivative of the word Saroha and exists as a separate gotra. Malak, Gathwala, Tank, Bura and Sagroha is the gotras of the same dynasty. The people of Luhara are mostly of the Saroha gotra.[citation needed]
Education
There are two government school available in the village and one inter college and one CBSE school for development of the village.
