AJK TV is a Kashmiri basic cable and satellite television channel by Pakistan Television Corporation. Subsequent to the resolution passed by Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly requesting for the establishment of new channel in Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan & directive from the President of Pakistan in the year 2002, it was decided to establish a new TV channel in AJK, GB in early 2004.In pursuance finally a portion of Radio Pakistan building was selected by the Chairman PTV/PBC to serve as AJK TV initially started on 5 February 2004 with its inauguration by the President of Pakistan.

AJK TV is a Urdu, Kashmiri, Shina, Balti, Broshiski, Wakhi, Pahari-Potwari , Gojri, Pashto, Punjabi Languages channel for the people of Pakistan-administered Azad Kashmir & Gilgit Baltistan. AJK TV broadcasts programs from Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, Bagh, Diamir, Bhimber, Hunza, Mirpur, Kotli, Chilas, Rawlakot, Neelum and Skardu cities. AJK TV is primarily a Government of Pakistan's step to increase prosperity in Kashmir and all the other mentioned territories through media.
