Abu Azeez moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Abu Azeez, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 16:46, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

onel5969 I'm trying to see how i can create more high quality articles like this atleast 3 a day but work and a whole lot makes it harder but still trying. Lapablo (talk) 21:28, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Take it one at a time. Don't worry about how many, simply make each as complete as you can. But don't be afraid to create a stub, and then go back and flesh it out later. Onel5969 TT me 23:40, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate redirect for Peter C. Oppenheimer

@Lapablo: There appears to be a great deal of confusion with the Peter Oppenheimer Wikipedia articles. There are two current Peter Oppenheimers on Wikipedia, Peter Oppenheimer who worked for Apple and is on the board of Goldman Sachs and Peter Oppenheimer (economist) who is an economist and fellow of Christ Church, Oxford. The third Peter Oppenheimer is the one that I wrote about today in a new article and that was mistakenly redirected. This is Peter C. Oppenheimer, the chief global equity strategist and head of Macro Research in Europe at Goldman Sachs. These are three different people with completely different accomplishments and I’m requesting that the Peter C. Oppenheimer article that was redirected today be reinstated as its own article. Here is an article about each of them so that you can see that these are all different people.

Erroneous Deletion of The Wicks Group (TWG)

Hi Lapablo,

I'm writing to respectfully request your rationale for deletion of The Wicks Group (TWG), as well as your suggestions for improving the page to enhance its use as an encyclopedia. In preparing the page, great care was taken to ensure that the content thereof was non-promotional and written in a factual, objective manner and tied to independent, third-party news citations. Other than citing the firm's website to substantiate information about the year of its founding and its location in Washington, DC, all content was backed by numerous independent, third-party, objective news sources. As far as possible, the page's content complied with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines for use, notability criteria and objectivity parameters.

Thank you in advance for your reply. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srnelsontwg (talkcontribs) 18:00, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

* Srnelsontwg Hello, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately i am unable to retrieve the page but i believe if i tagged it for being promotional, it was. I have noticed you tried declaring a COI with the subject on your talk page which i have properly fixed for you. Please note that if at any point in time you have COI with a subject it is required that such article goes through WP:AFC or submitted through Wikipedia draft. Try starting a draft and i'll guide you from there. Lapablo (talk) 08:32, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Lapablo, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! - TNT 💖 20:33, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Declination of Draft:Andre Julian

On May 10, 2019 you reviewed and declined the article Draft:Andre Julian, providing the following rationale: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). I wish to offer an opposing opinion to your cursory review of the article. To wit:

  • The very 1st reference in the Andre Julian article is from Morningstar of Morningstar, Inc. Per Wiki's Morningstar page -- "Morningstar's research and recommendations are considered extremely influential in the asset management industry". In this published, reliable, secondary that is independent of the subject (in conformance to guidelines on the notability of people) - this reference is not a passing mention (indeed, the entire article is on Andre Julian) and Morningstar writes: "Notable Financial Commentator Andre Julian Addresses South OC Professionals In Human Resources Association." (BTW, for those who know nothing about PIHRA - PIHRA is the largest affiliate of the Society for Human Resources Management.) Further down in the same Morningstar article we have "PIHRA is hosting notable television financial commentator, Andre Julian."
  • The Television references in the Andre Julian article are summary references, indicating a large body of work - interviews and commentary on the top financial programs in the country. These videos speak for themselves (no pun intended) as to the expertise that Julian has provided. All these networks/programs invited Andre Julian to opine on the economy and evaluate the state of the financial sector because they, in their assessment, recognized that Andre Julian is an expert, as such - notable in the field.
  • The TED Organization vets distinguished individuals in their field. Only a select few are invited to give a TED Talk. Andre Julian was invited to give a TED Talk. Even an elementary practitioner of syllogisms would correctly infer that Andre Julian is distinguished (as such - notable) in his field.
  • What is not referenced in the Andre Julian article is his association with the UCI program for almost a decade. His Mentor of the year award which was referenced I thought to be sufficient to demonstrate Julian's outstanding recognition by the Paul Merage School of Business. But the UCI association is evidence that Andre Julian - on a social and academic level - gives back to the community. It's not Keanu Reeves notable but tell that to the graduates Julian mentored.
  • Anyone who knows anything about the LEAP Foundation knows that the founder, Dr. Bill Dorfman, selects the most competent and prominent people to present "success in life" skills to young adults. The Andre Julian article has a reference to an interview where Dr. Dorfman refers to Julian as a wealth guru, extols Julian's credentials and Dr. Dorfman expresses his appreciation that Andre Julian is part of the program.

Neil Cavuto (I don't know if you even know who that is) once refered to Andre Julian as a "titan in the industry" in a studio discussion. Neil Cavuto, as just one example, has excellent credentials in business and finance. So I would, as a matter of passing, like to know what your (Lapablo) credentials are in business and finance. After all - you just passed judgement on someone in a field that (apparently) you know little of and a judgement that is at odds with the judgements of experts in the field. It is sad that individuals that are not experts see themselves as competent adjudicators in fields of their non expertise. This is very damaging to the credibility of Wikipedia. I would never suggest the deletion of Manu Garba, or Utazi Chukwuka, or Joshua M. Lidani, or Gilbert Nnaji ... even though these people are to me completely unknown and show no indication of any significant accomplishments. But, should their names pop up in the course of a conversation, it would be nice to know that they can be looked up on Wikipedia and be provided with enough information to conduct further research. This is the power of Wikipedia. A compendium and repository of lots of reliable information.

I would refer you to the Wikipedia article: Chesterton's Fence (not Wiki policy). Chesterton's fence is the principle that reforms should not be made until the reasoning behind the existing state of affairs is understood. In the section "What this means on Wikipedia" we have "If you're considering nominating something for deletion ... research its history first". I would suggest you refrain from summarily proposing deletions of articles that are indeed objectively sourced, that give an indication the subject is notable in his/her field and might be a source of reliable information to the curious user.

What little I know of your Wiki activity, to me, indicates what some might call intellectual vandalism. I truly hope that is not the case since you seem to sincere, as evidenced by your desire to promote Nigerien personalities - a good thing. There also seems to be a tendency of negative bias towards everything else - not a good thing. At any rate, I will not pursue that speculation at this time. I would hate to see you sanctioned for irresponsible, arbitrary or prejudiced evaluations. It seems you have much to offer the Wikipedia community so I hope you temper any rash decision making by resisting hasty decisions that result in dismissals of articles that warrant a closer look. Thanking you in advance for any reconsideration of your vote and hoping you choose to include the Andre Julian article ...

Yuri716 (talk) 21:18, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yuri716 Thanks for reaching out. To answer your complaint, first off i want to start by giving a warm apology as to if you were offended by my review on your draft. I might not have substantial knowledge in a particular field but i review articles here according to guidelines and criteria for inclusion, it wasn't a hasty review because i spent several minutes on the article.

1. The first reference from Morningstar Inc is a Press Release here we do not accept press pieces as a reliable reference. If a person or subject is not notable enough per WP:NOTABILITY guidelines there's just no way around it.

2. Don't take it as an attack but i will not reconsider my "vote" or chose to "include" it into Wikipedia just because you wrote a few paragraphs trying to make a point which am sure any other editors will share my thoughts. Currently as it stands article fails WP:SIGCOV. Youtube is not a reliable reference unless for example a video was published from the official account of CNN then it could be considered. You added a bunch of YouTube links of which it takes me to a search query on the name "Andre Julian". A search on GNEWS here brings out nothing on Andre Julian. I have however seen a few passing mentions on Fox Business but nothing more.

To conclude article Fails WP:SIGCOV and for now serves as a Portfolio of some sort on the subject, i will be happy to have another reviewer take a look at it right away. If it somehow meets guidelines i will give an apology to you. Lapablo (talk) 22:21, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
