Removed information
Some unsourced and some sourced information about the notable alumni David Westerfield was removed. The reason was apparently “TMI”, which presumably means “too much information”.
The unsourced information related to his deceased brother. While it’s true that he was mentioned during the trial, it’s not clear that this was done to explain the crimes. And his name was wrong.
However, I don’t agree with the removal of the sourced information. Westerfield spent his life working on a variety of inventions that helped improve people's lives. These included an underwater surveillance vehicle which saved the lives of divers; an airport security device used in San Francisco that allowed airline employees to quietly flag luggage for screening with special tags, which was revolutionary for its time; and medical devices that helped people recovering from surgery or suffering from debilitating arthritis: one of these devices, the “shoulder flexer”, had more than 600,000 users.TheTruth-2009 (talk) 12:39, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
- For purposes of this article, "notable alumni" consists of the name of the alum and a single phrase explaining why they are notable. That's what we have now. The TMI information that I deleted a) was not why he was notable and b) was out of proportion for this article. --MelanieN (talk) 16:00, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
