Maryam Yahaya (born 17 July 1997)[2] is a Nigerian film actor in the Kannywood industry. She gained recognition for starring in Mansoor[3], a movie directed by Ali Nuhu. For her role, Maryam Yahaya Was nominated as best promising actress by City People Entertainment Awards in 2017[4]. She was also nominated as best actress of the by City People Entertainment Awards in 2018[5] . She an ambasador of Foster Clark, and Frufru Juice.

Early life

Maryam Yahaya was born in Goron Dutse, Dala local government area, Kano State, to Yahaya Yusuf and Maimunatu Umar. She attended Yelwa primary School from 2003 to 2008. She moved to Bokabo Barrack where is obtained secondary school certificate in 2013 before venturing into Kannywood film industry.

Career

Inspired by most of the hausa movies she watched. she made her debut in a film titled Gidan Abinci, followed by Barauniya and Tabo where she played minor role[6]. She gain fame after adapting a leading role originally meant for Balkisu Shema in Mansoor[7], a movie directed by Ali Nuhu[8].
