You have removed a few maintenance tags from the [[Project Veritas]] article. Would you not agree, that the article goes into extreme detail about the lawsuits surrounding the project, without even mentioning what the work that the organisation has carried out? I think that this article needs to be like the one about [[James O'Keefe]], which actually covers his work, unlike whatever you want this article to be. (There are plenty of reliable sources which cover the Project's work, without hammering us about their lawsuits.) :Also, don't accuse me of tag bombing. I have explained the reasoning for the tags, and you have not contested them on the talk. Whatever your sources may say, the article's main topic is definitely not explored well enough. Büchner Prize

While you and I may know how prestigious the prize is that Brigitte Kronauer received in 2005, the "ordinary" reader may have to be told, no? It's not the Nobel Prize which I believe would not need an introduction. How should they known where the difference is to the other prizes she received, and which are also named after authors. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:29, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Gerda Arendt: Perhaps we can add "for German literature"? I feel like if an award is mentioned in the lead section of a Wikipedia article, it is probably prestigious by default. Neutralitytalk 17:13, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
All these prizes are in a way for German literature, so that wouldn't add what I meant, short for the lead of the prize article, "the most important literary prize for the German language ...", which I thought would be too long for her article. I think I understand better, thanks for explaining. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:55, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt: Fair enough. I would not object if you wanted to restore the word prestigious or something like it; I leave it up to you. Best regards --Neutralitytalk 20:14, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators' newsletter – August 2019

News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2019).

Guideline and policy news

Arbitration

Miscellaneous

  • Following a research project on masking IP addresses, the Foundation is starting a new project to improve the privacy of IP editors. The result of this project may significantly change administrative and counter-vandalism workflows. The project is in the very early stages of discussions and there is no concrete plan yet. Admins and the broader community are encouraged to leave feedback on the talk page.
  • The new page reviewer right is bundled with the admin tool set. Many admins regularly help out at Special:NewPagesFeed, but they may not be aware of improvements, changes, and new tools for the Curation system. Stay up to date by subscribing here to the NPP newsletter that appears every two months, and/or putting the reviewers' talk page on your watchlist.

Since the introduction of temporary user rights, it is becoming more usual to accord the New Page Reviewer right on a probationary period of 3 to 6 months in the first instance. This avoids rights removal for inactivity at a later stage and enables a review of their work before according the right on a permanent basis.

Red_flag_law Unconstitutional

This is not about neutrality. Red flag laws violate the 2nd, 4th, and 14th Amendments. They are EXPLICITLY unconstitutional. There is no reading under which they can be considered constitutional. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.117.89.45 (talk) 15:32, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well, we follow reliable sources here, not your personal opinion, so I suggest you start a blog if you wish to expound. FYI, the two courts to consider the issue have both held that red flag laws are constitutional. Neutralitytalk 15:39, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Editing on Eric Greitens page

Hi! I just wanted to respond to your message on my talk page! I do not have any connection to Eric Greitens. I am a student at the University of Missouri and for a project have to pick a person to biograph online over the course of a period. That is why most of my edits have been on one person. I'm new to Wikipedia, is this allowed? Thank you!! FJ329 (talk) 18:55, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi FJ329: Welcome. I believe your course instructor should reach out to the Wiki Education Foundation folks (https://wikiedu.org/). Neutralitytalk 22:09, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this information. I got the message from the Wiki Education Foundation team. The course did conclude last week (at the start of the fall term), however, I am happy to pass along the information for the instructor's awareness. Any and all future edits I make, will likely not be for assigned coursework. Thank you! FJ329 (talk) 16:54, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Backlog Banzai

In the month of September, Wikiproject Military history is running a project-wide edit-a-thon, Backlog Banzai. There are heaps of different areas you can work on, for which you claim points, and at the end of the month all sorts of whiz-bang awards will be handed out. Every player wins a prize! There is even a bit of friendly competition built in for those that like that sort of thing. Sign up now at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/September 2019 Backlog Banzai to take part. Requesting your input

Hi. As a recent contributor to the talk page for Asian Americans, I am seeking your input for a discussion about changes to the lead section that I started. I'm trying to set a good example of consensus-building, especially for the lead section. Your input would be most appreciated. Thanks! --Ishu (talk) 14:59, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
