This article describes Television in Turkmenistan. In Turkmenistan, TV has been operating for over 50 years and is the most popular form of media. In total there are 7 public access channels under the jurisdiction of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on TV, Radio and Film.[1] Programs are of a low professional level and the viewer is fed a positive point of view. Criticism can only come from the President. There is censorship on television. The majority of the population takes advantage of satellite TV.[citation needed] Online TV is available through the website of the Turkmen State News Agency.
