::{{Ping|L Manju}} I mentioned this already. April 2nd report contains not only patients recorded on April 1st, but patients reported on April 2nd until 10 am. :::{{Ping|Chanakal}} Then how can you explain the discrepancy in "number of daily cases" between the epid lk data and our graph? WikiProject COVID-19

I've created WikiProject COVID-19 as a temporary or permanent WikiProject and invite editors to use this space for discussing ways to improve coverage of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Please bring your ideas to the project/talk page. Stay safe, --Another Believer (Talk) 17:31, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

GRAPH

I've inserted a Graph. Please help improve it. The X axis is the date (March 2020), and the Y axix is number of confirmed cases.Muffizainu (talk) 15:18, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Muffizainu: Thank you for your contributions to the article and for the graph. Abishe (talk) 14:47, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template:2019–20 coronavirus pandemic data/Sri Lanka

Please can anyone comment about the current graph that depicting the "COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka" is correct or not.--L Manju (talk) 16:32, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@L Manju: At first sight it looks wrong. Today's situation report (the latest we have) says as at 10am on 28 March there were 106 cases, not 110.--Obi2canibe (talk) 20:25, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Obi2canibe: Thank you for your comment. Changes have been done after your comment. But still this graph shows us false information. According to it the first death in SL has been recorded today (Mar 29). But we know that was yesterday (Mar 28). The last report by the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health (Situation Report 62 ( 10 : 00 HRS )) has a bar chart under the title "New patients - Sri Lanka". It shows that there were no patients on 25 March & 27 March. The current graph says that were in 26& 28 March. But we know that yesterday 9 new cases were recorded. --L Manju (talk) 09:56, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@L Manju: You are correct, the graph is wrong with regard to the death. All the news sources say the death occurred yesterday (28 March). I myself first read about it yesterday. You are also correct in that there were no new cases on 25 March and 27 March.
The problem is that the situation is changing rapidly and data is being updated several times a day by officials. Often this results in old data becoming outdated. However, the template is being edited by unregistered and new users who aren't being diligent in checking the data, particularly previous days' data. I suggest you ask for Template:2019–20 coronavirus pandemic data/Sri Lanka medical cases chart to be semi-protected.--Obi2canibe (talk) 14:26, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Obi2canibe:@L Manju: Health Ministry official EOD (End of Day) report for a given day get published at 10.00 am, following day. So there are discrepancies between live updated numbers and official numbers for the day.The better source would be the daily situation update published here. [1] Nishadhi (talk) 16:55, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I corrected the data as per the official reports. The first local patient got admitted to IDH on 10th, but diagnosed on 11th and fist appeared on the the 12th report which was the EOD report for the 11th. (Confusing isn't it?) So the Data was changed accordingly. Nishadhi (talk) 17:51, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nishadhi: Yes that is true. The report published today contains the data of the previous day. But without understanding this simple matter some users edited this template in a wrong manner --L Manju (talk) 04:51, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Chanakal: I don't understand your reason Chanakal. We all can discuss it here. Nishadhi (talk) 05:33, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Obi2canibe:@Nishadhi: The following bar chart was extracted from the "Situation report 65 ( 10 : 00 HRS)" by Epidemiology Unit, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. It clearly shows the correct X and Y axes values. --L Manju (talk) 05:48, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
