Google Adds New Languages to Google Translate

In late February, Google added 5 new languages to Google Translate: Kinyarwanda, Odia (Oriya), Tatar, Turkmen and Uyghur. This expands our ability to find and evaluate sources in those languages.

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.

Problems

• There are some new tools to make it easier for newcomers to start editing. They are available on some wikis. These wikis had a problem with the visual editor for a short period of time last week. This was because of a bug in the new tools. It was soon fixed. [1]
• Some user scripts and gadgets stopped working because of a change to CSS selectors. .vectorTabs should be replaced with .vector-menu-tabs to fix this. [2]

Changes later this week

• The developers are working on a new interface to solve edit conflicts on talk pages. This will be released on 24 June. You can give feedback. [3]
• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 23 June. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 24 June. It will be on all wikis from 25 June (calendar).

Future changes

• A temporary fix helped wikis make their main pages more mobile friendly. This was in 2012. It has not been recommended since 2017. It will not work after 13 July. Wikis should use TemplateStyles instead. 91 wikis still need to fix this. You can read more and see if your wiki is affected. [4]

I just deleted Jad Gillies but would suggest that if something is G4 eligible (as you noted by knowing to nominate it as such) it is almost, by definition, not A7 eligible. The objection about youtube video is noted.Regarding the notability of organisation,-Feline Club of India is working at a national level in India. It is active in more 30 cities with its local city level clubs. -The coverage in mentioned reference is a full article (significant) about FCI, its establishment and its activities. The source is an independent magazine 'Creature Companion' published by L.B Associates (Pvt) Ltd in New Delhi,India. L.B. Associates is also the organizer of South Asia's largest pet trade exhibition IIPTF(India International Pet Trade Fair) therefore can be said to be reliable? - The other source is another major publishing house S Media Group from New Delhi, publishing pet magazines 'Dogs & Pups' and 'Cats and Kittens'. Kindly guide regarding the same.

I saw that my article on Microtalk got reviewed and not accepted. How ever I have complied with the terms and guidelines of Wikipedia completely. I have used an absolutely neutral informative words from various reliable sources only. Microtalk is often confused as Microtek , to clarify this, I had created the article. I have seen a wikipedia page of Knowlarity, which is accepted by wikipedia. I do not see how my page violates any guidelines.
