Whoever used the IGN source, nowhere on the article states that "development started in early 2013", only that Arkham Origins featured a scene with Amanda Waller and Deathstroke. Do not add any development facts UNLESS IT IS EXPLICITLY STATED VERBATIM IN AN ARTICLE. Rocksteady was developing Arkham Knight during the period between 2011 and 2015, there is no proof anywhere online that they were also developing Suicide Squad during that time frame. Development likely began after Arkham Knight.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League[1] is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Based on the DC Comics supervillain team the Suicide Squad and the superhero team Justice League, the game is the fourth superhero-based game of Rocksteady following the Batman: Arkham series. Players control the titular antihero team which set out to kill the Justice League.[2]

Much as the Arkham series before it, the game is presented from a third-person perspective, in an open world map design, with primary focus on the Squad's tactical and combat skills. A Suicide Squad game was first considered a possibility early 2013 following the end of Batman: Arkham Origins - developed by WB Games Montreal - which featured a post-credits scene in which Deathstroke is asked by Amanda Waller to join the Suicide Squad. In the years since Batman: Arkham Knight released, there have been rumours suggesting the studio has been working on a Suicide Squad game, but no official announcement was made from the development team or publisher.[3]

In June 2020, Rocksteady claimed to have set two different site domains; one for the Suicide Squad game and the other for a potential project known as Gotham Knights.[4]

Gameplay

Much as the Arkham series before it, the game is presented from a third-person perspective, in an open world map design, with primary focus on the Squad's tactical and combat skills.[5]

Development

A Suicide Squad game was first considered a possibility following the end of Batman: Arkham Origins - developed by WB Games Montreal - which featured a post-credits scene in which Deathstroke is asked by Amanda Waller to join the Suicide Squad. In the years since Batman: Arkham Knight released, there have been rumours suggesting the studio has been working on a Suicide Squad game, but no official announcement was made from the development team or publisher.[6]

Rocksteady was initially rumored to be working on a Superman-themed game, which they later debunked.[7]

Those rumours arose once again with the suggestion that the game's full name may be "Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League", although the poster art simply lists it as Suicide Squad.[8]

Marketing

The game's official artwork was revealed by Rocksteady on August 7, 2020.[9] Rocksteady announced further details would be revealed at DC Fandome.
