Undisclosed Paid Editing

Information icon

Hello Timileyin Olalere. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Erica Ngozi Nlewedim, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Timileyin Olalere. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Timileyin Olalere|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Template:Z159 Celestina007 (talk) 14:14, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Following this conversation, i know for a fact that you aren’t a new editor, how I know this? I would only share with functionaries. Please cease and desist from UPE, Consider this a first and last warning I wouldn’t warn you again. Celestina007 (talk) 14:44, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sighes

Ain't pinging you or anything cuz you'd already see this. If the edits I did on Erica's article seems promotional and makes you think I'm being paid for the trying to make a good article, then it's fine, it's fine really — just know that no one paid me, directly or indirectly. You see, most folks really try to learn things before they embark on them and I thank God I fell under this category. I'm flamboyant enough to take care of myself than resulting to taking some bucks over making/improving an article. Not until I joined Wikipedia, I didn't know that folks get paid for this. And ey, if I'm gonna get blocked/ban then it's fine, ain't controversing for that either, you can go ahead and do so and you can as well share the information with functionaries, ty, Timi (talk) 21:47, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Harold Okwa moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Harold Okwa, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I thought you're the one who listed him in the Wikiproject Nigeria as someone who passed GNG (cuz that's where I got him). But if he isn't, then, no problem if you say so. Timi (talk) 10:52, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article Move

I have moved your most recent article back to Draftspace because of COI/UPE concerns as well as notability concerns you are free to submit via the AFC process of which I would definitely not review per INVOLVED. Remember to read WP:PAID WP:COI WP:RS & WP:GNG. Thanks for complying. Celestina007 (talk) 10:51, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
