Hi Bkissin,

My draft has been rejected for Copyright material but I don't see which content you refer to. Can you give me more details? Some content comes from official FB page of the Artist (which is copyright free content) and we got her approval for that anyway.

Thanks for your help, RA

Question regard Draft:John_Christopher_Muran

Hi Bkissin, I am a doctoral candidate working with Dr. Muran and trying to create a page for him. I have edited the page in response to the comments (i.e. paraphrasing, citation, & publication section). Would you mind take a look when you get a chance to see if it's better now? Thank you! -Di

Your Reason for Declining Dawn Smith Jordan draft

You said, "Being a Miss America runner-up is not notability..." which seems inconsistent with existing pages on Wikipedia. For example, as I look at the list of other Miss South Carolina winners in Wikipedia, there a number of former winners with their own pages and most have their chief measure of notability as winning Miss South Carolina. Note that you have to win Miss South Carolina to even compete in Miss America, and Dawn Smith was a finalist in Miss America. A good specific example is Ali Rogers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Rogers). Ali Rogers has nothing more on her page other than winning beauty pageants, the most significant being Miss South Carolina and also was a finalist in Miss America. She did not sing in a Billy Graham crusade, hasn't recorded songs, written books, have an active ministry throughout the United States, and so forth. I intend to continue to add to the draft providing additional items of notability, but the above comment by itself is inconsistent with what I already see approved on Wikipedia. My assumption is it will eventually get approved as I document more, but I contend it should already be approved based on what I see on Ali Rogers' page.

Hello, Bkission. I have seen your reviews about my draft. But in fact, I did not find the same topic with me and all of them pay attention to the whole information, which is not same as mine- use. Thank you

I believe my article should not have been rejected, I have cited as much as possible. I really need that page to be live for school. Lerato Kganyago or may you please guide me on where Im going wrong cause I dont see anything wrong with my article

Windsor Tablelands

Hi Bkissin,

I've made the changes now for the draft page for review: "Windsor Tablelands", and added a good lead section for the article. Hope this is sufficient! I was also just wanting to ask a question about changing the title of the page, upon greater investigation the geographical location is more commonly known as the 'Mount Windsor Tableland' as opposed to the 'Windsor Tablelands'.

Hi!

Thanks for viewing my article! I noticed that the article has been assessed to the start-class, and I had a look at the example article of start-class, I don't think my article is that bad : ). so, can you please give me some advice so that I can improve it. Ok did not know thanks.

Please can you explain in lay mens English whats wrong with this? Spiceheads is the worlds leading brandname for information, help and advice to the public about NPS, that has sold many pix and videos to News agencys that have been published without accredication. It comes up hits 1,2 and 3 in Google and Bing when you serch the term Spiceheads and has provided cited information, advice and photographs to the Sunday Times. I just do not understand what is wrong, most of it refairs back to the cited main article in Vice and I have asked for help to connect up the citations, but no one has offered. I am both phisically and mentaly disabled, as you should be able to tell by my spelling and grammer. Instead of just rejecting it over and over, why will one of you intelegent accademics help an old guy with dementia? Is it because I am disabled that I am being treated in this way? Or is it the subject matter? All in all I am bewildered in a page that openly says that anyone, can publish or edit somthing, when clearly it is realy anyone with a degree in English that's part of the club. Not having a go at you personally, just very upset, almost suisidal that no one will halp me and I am being treated this way

Regarding outright Rejection to publish an article about a renowned Professor

Hi, Dear moderator Bkissin I have sent a small introduction about a scientist that you have rejected. In my opinion, this is a very and biased action. Rupesh Chaturvedi has contributed much in the medical field that is benefiting to the science community and it will give more benefit in the future. If you are writing an article about a person who has not given anything this world like (I can give you many examples) and at the same time declining a person who has a number of research articles/papers in the famous journal like PNAS, Cell, Nature, present on PubMed cited by approx 50000 times. Besides this as per I know He is the most cited scientist of India's Top Ranked Jawaharlal Nehru university, that you can see Rupesh Chaturvedi google scholar citation. He is also Director of R&D of JNU New Delhi that you can see on JNU website. Rupesh Chaturvedi is in USA Washington DC and already started a Big Startup project in the medical field. It was my first article and now it was last also. Public opinion that I have listened about the biases of Wikipedia, I got it to be correct. This is the respect what we as a researcher get from the common people for whom we worked for day and night.

Thank you very much, Mr. Bkissin Achyut Pandey Research scholar JNU New Delhi

In cleaning this up you left an unencyclopedic note at the top (now removed, and partly actioned). It would also have been useful to add the DEFAULTSORT (done). Thanks. PamD 14:37, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In cleaning this up you added birth and death categories but not the DEFAULTSORT which makes him file under F rather than J.

There is splendid template: {{L}}, which much be "substituted" when you use it. Here's my "boilerplate" text about it:

There is a very easy way to add the DEFAULTSORT (so the article files by surname in lists), and Category:Living people where appropriate, and any birth or death date category: {{subst:L|1882|1984|Brown, Annie}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Brown, Annie}}, Category:1882 births and Category:1984 deaths, while {{subst:L|||Smith, Jane}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Smith, Jane}}, Category:Living people and Category:Date of birth missing (living people). Lack of death date implies "living" (or you can add "unknown" or "missing" as the death date to suppress this). You get a lot done for a few keystrokes: I think it's a great little template. Happy Editing. PamD 18:10, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi PamD. I appreciate your concern, but those are automated edits from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Helper script. That is what cleans up the articles after I accept them. You are more than welcome to talk to User:FloridaArmy about putting the DEFAULTSORT information in the article before submitting them to AfC. I'm just trying to bring down the article backlog. There is no charge for this article I don't know how to defend myself on this issue I also added the best resources about Deniz UNAY, if you look at google searches, dozens of valuable resources can be found. Concerns

Hello Bkissin,

As is seen on this page, you have repeatedly failed to respond to other editors who contacted you. Wikipedia is not an individual endeavor, but a collaborative one, and you are expected to respond to those who contact you with concerns. I also have concerns with your approval of a promotional article. Please indicate that you are not operating either a bot or on autopilot by responding directly and appropriately to this message. Seraphimblade Talk to me 12:33, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Which article are you particularly concerned about? Bkissin (talk) 14:48, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The particular article in this instance was Upper Silesian Museum. When you approved it, it contained promotional wording such as ...thanks to which the collections of the Upper Silesian Museum were enriched..., This unique gift included..., and then unreferenced brochure-type statements such as Archaeology Department of the Upper Silesian Museum has the richest, over 350,000 (16,651 inventory items), collection of archaeological relics concerning the past of Silesia within the area of Upper Silesia, spanning the period from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages., ...which today is quite significant..., ...played a leading role..., and on and on like that. Promotional articles should not be approved and moved to mainspace, and nor should largely unreferenced ones. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:35, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry you feel that way. Regardless of whether AfC reviewers accept or decline an article, we seem to get criticized or WP:ASPERSIONS cast to our conduct. Some of my colleagues in AfC go with the mindset that if a subject passes notability (as the museum was) that it can move out of draftspace and that continuing to decline notable drafts because of unrelated issues is not the role of the Draftspace. In fact, that mindset touches upon your point that Wikipedia is a collaborative endeavor, as NPP and other patrollers can make the relevant changes to the article to clean it up. You'll note that when I realized the article was written by Museum staff, I added a COI tag to make sure that any NPOV language could be taken care of.
On your other point about not responding to users: Wikipedia is not my job. I try to be a firm believer in "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". I'm not going to deal with every non-notable promo draft or undisclosed PAID case who is asking why their article was declined. I have a life (Not much of one, but a life nevertheless). My goal has been to bring down the massive backlog of articles at AfC and to make sure that they are quality contributions to the project. You are more than welcome to bring me to ANI and have my reviewer status revoked if you feel as if I'm not living up to those standards after 15 years on the website. Or, alternatively, you are welcome to join us at AfC and review some of these articles as well. We could always use the help! Otherwise, I think less interaction between the two of us would be a healthy choice, at least until cooler heads prevail. Bkissin (talk) 18:03, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Declined Draft: Contemporary Lynx

Hi Bkissin, thank you for taking the time to review this draft. I would like to know if you think the second link "A hand painted cover for the Contemporary Lynx magazine" is reliable/justifies notability for the page , or whether a new submission would require different sources entirely. Thank you again, Captains224 (talk) 16:13, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My concern around sources was due to a couple different factors. In order to establish notability, we want sources that are independent of the subject matter. Obviously the website for Contemporary Lynx thinks the magazine is notable, it is the subject of the article! What do other reliable sources have to say about it? Has it had in-depth coverage in those sources (not just press releases or passing mentions). The second link is borderline, but probably doesn't meet the standard. Bkissin (talk) 17:45, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your detailed response. That is good to know. Best, Captains224 (talk) 17:45, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Morgan & Morgan

Hi Bkissin. The current draft is full of puffery WP:PUFF which you have rightly rejected last year. But it's one of the activism-driven law firms in Florida and also active in my state (North Carolina). I was wondering is it worth enough for attempting an edit for an AfC practice purpose? -Hatchens (talk) 12:37, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oof, I just reread through it and I don't know. I'm pretty wary about law firms (especially personal injury firms) trying to make a case for notability. I do see where you're coming from with some of the former attorneys on staff and the Community Bail Fund stuff. Unfortunately, I'm thinking it would take a pretty substantial rewrite to be good to submit. If you want to work on it you are more than welcome. That keeps it from G13 deletion. Bkissin (talk) 13:40, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Bkissin, Let me check it out... how much I can neutralize it. I don't have much hope either. - Hatchens (talk) 16:27, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, regarding your question, as per the notability status I don’t think MUSICBIO bio is satisfied because most of his alleged achievements written in the article that would make him eligible to meet MUSICBIO are substantiated by unreliable sources. Daniel just salted the article & rightfully so, so I’m not even sure how it popped up again, I probably missed something. As for the paid status, I’d say from an objective stance, that given the history of this article (different socks creating and recreating it 6 times now) i’d say it would be a very convenient coincidence that the editor who created the article just coincidentally did so. My opinion would be there’s definitely a COI present.

TL:DR? : This is most likely the work of an inexperienced UPE editor and the subject isn’t notable because only unreliable sources substantiates the achievements written in the article. Celestina007 (talk) 17:26, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Celestina007! That's just what I needed to put my mind at ease. Usually I'm pretty good about sniffing out UPE and COI, but I also don't want to intentionally delete possible unrepresented content. Bkissin (talk) 17:31, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I totally understand your point of view. Celestina007 (talk) 17:33, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ben DeLaurentis Notability

Hi Bkissin. Wanted to ask about your declination of my article creation on Ben Delaurentis. You declined for notability reasons, but I included many references to local and national coverage that he has received. That coverage has been "reliable," is "not self-published," and have been entirely independent of the musician. I understand that this musician is not widely known nationally, but is very prevalent and well-known within Central Virginia, and I think the coverage (and citation) reflects that sufficiently enough that it qualifies under #1 of Wikipedia:NMUSIC. If you disagree, could you please clarify why you think otherwise?
