"We're Good" is a song by English singer Dua Lipa from the reissue of her second studio album Future Nostalgia: The Moonlight Edition (2021). It was released through Warner Records on 11 February 2021 as the reissue's lead single. It is a tropical pop song written by Lipa, Emily Warren, Scott Harris and Sylvester Willy Siversten. The song achieved moderate success, charting within the top 25 of 10 countries, including the United Kingdom. The music video was directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, and it features Lipa as a performer on a cruise ship. The plot of it also involves diners ordering live lobsters, when the video ends with a ship flooding which was inspired by the Titanic.

Release

Following the release of Future Nostalgia, Lipa announced a deluxe reissue of the album would be released, later announcing its 2021 release date.[3] In November 2020, she revealed that its lead single would be released in early 2021 along with its music video that was filmed the following month.[4] She began teasing the release of new music in 2021.[5] On 3 February 2021, Lipa formally announced the song, titled "We're Good", would be released 11 February.[6]

Composition

"We're Good" is a tropical pop song,[1][2] which strays away from Lipa's usual electropop style[7] and is less disco-inspired than the Future Nostalgia album.[2] Written by Lipa, Emily Warren, Scott Harris and Sylvester Willy Siversten[8] in the key of F-sharp major,[9] the track runs for a length of 2 minutes and 45 seconds.[10]

Commercial performance

"We're Good" debuted at number 25 on the UK Singles Chart, shifting 13,763 units in its first week.[11] In the United States, the song debuted at number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100, holding that position in its second week before ascending to number 42 on the chart dated April 13, 2021.[12]

Music video

The music video for "We're Good", directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, premiered on 12 February 2021 at 05:00 UTC.[13][14] In the video, Lipa performs at a restaurant on a cruise ship, while diners order live lobsters that are then cooked and served.[15] One lobster is taken from the tank to be boiled, but the stove fails to light and they are put back. The ship is then flooded with water; a shot of Lipa singing from a lifeboat reveals the video has been taking place on the Titanic. The liberated lobster is seen swimming in the sea.[16]
