Korea PD Awards

Hello @Carlobunnie: I was wondering if the Korea PD Awards could be included in the list since BTS recently won an award and the ceremony seems to be relevant. There are a couple of sources here. --Pandadri (talk) 15:14, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Pandadri: thank you for sharing those links. I did see the news on twitter when it was first announced on Apr 20 that they'd won the award, but I'll have to do a bit more digging on Naver before it can be added. The KJAD article provides minimal information about the ceremony/the body that established it etc. and a quick Google search turns up very little coverage from reliable 2ndary sources. This year is the 33rd edition of the Awards and I'm currently at February 2008 in my Naver search results, but so far there hasn't been a single article about the PD awards (and I'm searching from the oldest dated mention of "한국PD대상" to present). -- Carlobunnie (talk) 18:20, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Pandadri: forgot to mention you when I made the update (so sorry about that) but it was added to the table. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 10:09, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Carlobunnie: Thank you! --Pandadri (talk) 21:07, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Potential awards to include

LiveXLive's Lockdown Awards

Kindly verify if LiveXLive's "The Lockdown Awards 2020" should be added. BTS won the "Favorite Quaranteam" award here. Sources are Billboard and Cision PR Newswire. Facts Spiller (talk) 14:48, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Facts Spiller: this one I'll say no. Outside of press releases announcing it would be held, who presenters were etc. (including the one you linked above), the show itself hasn't received much secondary coverage (by page 2 of a google search there was nothing relevant). Billboard wrote two articles about it (including the one you linked above), Variety wrote one, and I found a third by Vacancy Mag, but other than that there's nothing else. So not notable enough for me. Also as a general fyi, press releases do not count as coverage (they're basically issued by the company/awarding body itself so primary sources) and prnewswire is considered an unreliable source per WP:RSPSOURCES. It doesn't count even if Yahoo News or Bloomberg repost the press release. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 10:46, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Carlobunnie: Ah I didn't know. Alright then. Facts Spiller (talk) 14:49, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gold House's Hall of Fame

BTS has been inducted in the Gold House's "Hall of Fame" here. Articles for references: [1] [2]. Facts Spiller (talk) 06:04, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Also adding the Hollywood Reporter article here. Facts Spiller (talk) 14:58, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Facts Spiller: just added it. Sorry it took me so long. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 20:33, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sisa Journal

Person of the Year

Hello everyone. I just noticed that BTS were chosen as 2018 Person of the Year by Sisa Journal (the magazine consequently wrote two articles about their achievements and impact). The list was started simultaneously with the establishment of Sisa Journal in 1989 and former winners include former prime minister Lee Hoi-chang, director Im Kwon-taek, footballer Cha Bum-kun, Presidents Roh Moo-hyun and Moon Jae-in and many others. Do you think it could be added to the Listicles section? --Chiyako92 09:35, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Chiyako92: looks fine to me. Feel free to add it! -- Carlobunnie (talk) 18:36, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural Rankings

Kindly recheck the Sisa Journal's "cultural" rankings for 2020 because it seems like there are two different rankings: BTS came at #3 in the "Who moves Korea" 2020 Survey (Most Influential Cultural Artists) while BTS came at #2 in the 100 Next Generation Leaders 2020 (Culture and Arts). Kindly check and see if it is possible to add both rankings. Facts Spiller (talk) 10:11, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New Guinness World Records to be added

I can't add them right now but I've already archived them on the Wayback Machine:

--Chiyako92 08:32, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Chiyako92: my phone bit the dust 20-ish mins ago or so but I managed to snag some time on the pc before the rest of the house wakes up so I'll add them now. If you don't see me around much for the next few days/not responding on talk pages, well you'll know why. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 09:38, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Carlobunnie: Thank you. --Chiyako92 17:07, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Carlobunnie: Guinness World Records just added 5 new records today following the release of BTS new single Butter [1] here.

  • Most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)
  • Most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)
  • Most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours - Butter
  • Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)
  • Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group - Butter (broke their own previous record set by Dynamite)

If you could please add these to the table too. CookyMooky (talk) 16:15, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@CookyMooky: I know you usually ask me, but just remember that you can also make the additions to the table too. GWRs are easy to follow (you can just copy the format of previous entries+type in the new info). Myself or another editor will always do any cleanup afterwards if needed. And thank you Paper9oll for adding them. I was editing the Butter article when Cooky posted so I couldn't get to it just then. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 17:04, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Carlobunnie: No problem, just helping out. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 17:09, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Carlobunnie: I can do the basic editing but I still have issues with achieving the links. This is why I always ask you guys to edit it in my place. I didn't want to just do the half work and mess up the table for u guys. CookyMooky (talk) 17:38, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@CookyMooky: would you like me to walk you through it? I taught another editor how to archive refs a little while back, when he was just starting out, and now he does it perfectly all on his own. If yes, I can msg you on your talk page. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 18:08, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Carlobunnie: Oh that would be great. I highly appreciate it. Thanks a lot! Also please don't mind my late replies as I am pretty much inactive here; most of the times actually because of school. CookyMooky (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
