Why would you remove text related Harsha Walia calling for churches to be burned? Are you trying to hide this information from the public? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:BD42:8500:35D0:A129:B13C:A97C (talk) 01:46, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

- Following a request for comment, F7 (invalid fair-use claim) subcriterion a has been deprecated; it covered immediate deletion of non-free media with invalid fair-use tags.
- Following a request for comment, page movers were granted the
delete-redirect
userright, which allows moving a page over a single-revision redirect, regardless of that redirect's target.
- When you move a page that many editors have on their watchlist the history can be split and it might also not be possible to move it again for a while. This is because of a job queue problem. (T278350)
- Code to support some very old web browsers is being removed. This could cause issues in those browsers. (T277803)

Hey Paul, do you see any more sources out there for Ken Cliffe? BOZ (talk) 03:07, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi BOZ. I didn't find anything. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 18:29, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 21:15, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
It looks like she just died, but as happens all too often in this field people only have unreliable sources to post. Do you see anything better, or anything that can be used for her bio in general? BOZ (talk) 20:12, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- No, sorry, BOZ. All I can find are some brief mentions: here and here. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 00:17, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- This would be considered non-RS, would it? Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 00:22, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- That probably would be, and I suspect that they are just responding to what has been posted on Facebook. BOZ (talk) 12:11, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Regarding Posture
Hello sir, my small work on posture got removed so wanted to know the reason so that I can correct it.Thank YouVarun Neelagiri (talk) 03:40, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
- Varun Neelagiri, it looks as if you were adding a definition of posture to the disambiguation page Posture. As a disambiguation page, the purpose of that page is not to discuss the word posture, but to help readers navigate to relevant encyclopedia articles when they type "Posture" into the search box. There is already a link to Wiktionary at the top of that page (giving readers this link), which allows readers to find the definition of posture. Dictionaries such as Wiktionary are the more suitable places for the definition of a word, rather than an encyclopedia. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:56, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Undoing my edits
Hi Paul,
You undid some of my edits on a politician's profile. I believe it was inappropriate to do so. Everything I wrote was based on facts and was put forward neutrally. I am unsure why you did this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Munchausen4Proxy (talk • contribs)

Re: entry for Nancy Robertson (actress)
Mr. Erik,
regarding Nancy Robertson's year of birth (currently stated as 1971) I have a 1977 Point Grey Secondary School yearbook in which she is correctly placed in grade 9 - my brother's grade. I remember her from then and have no reason to think that she wasn't born in 1962 like all of her classmates.
I have attached a photo of the bottom part of the yearbook page which includes a photo of her classmate Cynthia Stevenson - she also has a Wikipedia entry and you'll note that her year of birth is correctly stated as
1962.
David Colman Kraszewo (talk) 17:47, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for your efforts, Kraszewo. I don't have any reason to doubt any of that. The trouble is that Wikipedia policy is not to rely on primary sources in this way; it would fall under WP:BLPPRIMARY. Basically, if no secondary source (such as a newspaper or a magazine) has published Robertson's age or date of birth, then Wikipedia probably does not have any business doing so. Thanks again for trying to sort this out, though! Regards, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:39, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Adding: I just discovered that when I removed her year of birth (as 1971) from some places, I had neglected to remove it from others. Now taken care of. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:58, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
User:142.114.234.254
Hi there - I noticed that you had blocked User:142.114.234.254 temporarily for vandalism on the page Eileen de Villa, they have subsequently vandalized COVID-19 pandemic in Toronto, attacking de Villa there. I have left a warning on their talk page: User talk:142.114.234.254. Thanks. CaffeinAddict (talk) 16:48, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, CaffeinAddict. Given their persistence, I think a longer block is needed. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 16:57, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

- Following a Request for Comment the Book namespace was deprecated.
- Wikimedia previously used the IRC network Freenode. However, due to changes over who controlled the network with reports of a forceful takeover by several ex-staff members, the Wikimedia IRC Group Contacts decided to move to the new Libera Chat network. It has been reported that Wikimedia related channels on Freenode have been forcibly taken over if they pointed members to Libera. There is a migration guide and Wikimedia discussions about this.
- After a Clarification request, the Arbitration Committee modified Remedy 5 of the Antisemitism in Poland case. This means sourcing expectations are a discretionary sanction instead of being present on all articles. It also details using the talk page or the Reliable Sources Noticeboard to discuss disputed sources.

Julian assange smears by cbc
hello Paul thank you, i am new here and want to include the assault on journalism of Julian assange. Can you please help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by EditorOnTruth (talk • contribs)
- Adding this material ("the assault on journalism of Julian assange" by the CBC) is in violation of policy, such as Wikipedia:No original research#Primary, secondary and tertiary sources. Has there been any secondary-source coverage of the complaint? In other words, did any magazines, newspapers or journals publish any pieces about the ombudsman's report? I searched but could not find any. If there is no secondary-source coverage of it, then it is not suitable for an encyclopedia. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 04:40, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

- Consensus has been reached to delete all books in the book namespace. There was rough consensus that the deleted books should still be available on request at WP:REFUND even after the namespace is removed.
- An RfC is open to discuss the next steps following a trial which automatically applied pending changes to TFAs.
- IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.
- The community authorised COVID-19 general sanctions have been superseded by the COVID-19 discretionary sanctions following a motion at a case request. Alerts given and sanctions placed under the community authorised general sanctions are now considered alerts for and sanctions under the new discretionary sanctions.

Quick Question
Dear Paul,
I'm conducting an article clean-up month focusing on Canadian biographies which have been flagged for clean up. I've had a ton of experience myself editing Wikipedia and everything about it but I recently stumbled upon something. In the context of publications, book sections, anthologies & journals, for an article (biography) mentioning the person's written work - does his publications, book sections, anthologies & journals need to be referenced in order to be mentioned on the article accordingly or does it deem removal if not referenced (especially for book sections)? I've seen WP:V but could not find any information.
