Career sub section have wrong edit. Neeraj Chopra is first Atlete from India, who won Gold medal in Olympics but he's not the first athlete, who won medal in athletics for India. Because Norman Pritchard won Silver medal in athletics for India into the year of 1900.[1] You have to remove this wrong info and add wright one. Newton Euro (talk) 15:24, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

Make two different sub-section for 1] personal life 2] Career.
Life and Career section is too lengthy and difficult to read. It have seperate sections for personal life , Early life, Indian army career, Career ie Sports career and Award & recognition section is just money declared by different organisations but it's not recived by this honorable athlete. In India, different organisations announce award but they don't give it to the respected athlete. So it's a disputed subject. Will they give this money really to Neeraj Chopra ji or just these are false lies. Newton Euro (talk) 16:57, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- I've just made two sections of it. Thanks for the idea. I don't know about other things, so I leave it untouched. ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:13, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

Change Ror Maratha to Ror.
Please refer to the village head (sarpanch) remark in the ESPN article below. There is no thing such as ror maratha - It's Ror, so please use the right term. https://www.espn.com/olympics/summer/athletics/story/_/id/31980649/neeraj-chopra-haryana-village-celebrates-tokyo-olympics-gold-medal Flymav (talk) 23:43, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- The Ror community is genetically related to the people in NW of the subcontinent, around the Swat valley.[1] By looks also they resemble people from NW of the Indian subcontinent (fair and tall). They are thus similar to Khatris and Kambojas. The genetic evidence conclusively disproves the Maratha hypothesis. It is however likely that they fought along with the Maratha army (which included soldiers from multiple communities, as is well known). Malaiya (talk) 01:57, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hindustan Times article says that, Neerja Chopra sir is from ROR Maratha cast. It's an reputed newspaper. You have to provide reliable references, who says that he's not from Maratha cast.Newton Euro (talk) 07:41, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- I have seen your Rod Maratha clan article. That Rors are Marathas is a speculative claim, not a fact. Genetic studies have shown that they are not Maratha, which is confirmed by their visual appearance. It must be mentioned that Maratha armies were lead by Brahmins and the soldiers could have come from several communities including Marathas, Dhangar or even Mahar. He should be just called a Ror, which he is. Malaiya (talk) 22:40, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Incidentally the concept promoted by an editor Sitush that "The mention of caste requires self-identification in the case of living people" is improper. Malaiya (talk) 22:57, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Not done: No "ror" in the article, except as part of "crore". Best that way, IMO. Usedtobecool ☎️ 02:44, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
Write in heading section and in Career section about Norman Pritchard.
Norman Pritchard was the first Indian athlete who won individual medal for India in track and field event in Olympic. It was in the year of 1900, second Olympics. So Neeraj Chopra is second India track and field athlete, who won Olympic medal for India, You have to mention it in heading section, It's important. Many readers thinking here that Neerja Chopra is first track and field athlete who won Olympic medal for India, which is not true. He is second after Pritchard. But you also have to write that he's the first track and field athlete and Jevelin thrower who first Olympic Gold medal for India. Overall hea third individual sportsperson who won Olympic medal for India after Pritchard in 1900, Kashabha Jadhav in wrestling, 1952 and Bindra in 2008. You have to write it. Also it is very important to write that he's the first athlete of India who won a track and field Olympic Gold medal and first track and field Olympic medalist after India's freedom.[1] Newton Euro (talk) 07:59, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- According to the article on Pritchard, he was born in India to parents of British ancestry. The International Olympic Committee recognizes him of having won his two medals for India. David notMD (talk) 11:30, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
But Mr. Pritchard used India's travel documents, hewas born in India. Most of his best athletics record he created in Bengal presidency, in India. He educated in India. He left India after 1900 Olympics participation, so how can he's a British citizen. International Olympic committee says that he's Indian athlete and we folks of India consider Norman Pritchard our Indian national.Newton Euro (talk) 19:49, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Omitt rubbish, insulting , body shame information from Early life, personal life sub-section.
These to section mentioning that Neeraj Chopra was fat , if reliable sources says that then that's ok. But local boys taunt, tese him by saying Sarpanch or he was looked like a Sarpanch, it's not worth to mention here. You can mention that local boys bullied him. But don't mention the word by using which they bullied him. Look Ragging , bullying is a big problem in India & all over the world in schools & colleges. So don't mention about bullies and their word in WP. remove it, and warne, block editor who is written it.Newton Euro (talk) 08:13, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- A ref confirms he was obese as a pre-teen (90 kg at age 12) and teased by his peers, which led to his family enrolling him at a gym/exercise facility, which in turn led to an interest in javalin = his 2021 Olympic gold medal. David notMD (talk) 11:25, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
He mentioned about him being overweight himself. He overcame that. It is significant information and should be included.Malaiya (talk) 22:30, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Neeraj's ethnic background
So it's the same scenario again. An Indian shines at an international stage and we have multiple people belonging to different communities trying to claim him as one of their own. The Early Life section of the article links to the Chopra page where it's written that it's a hindu khatri and sikh surname. While Chopra surname is indeed prominent among Khatris , there are other communities which use the surname too . This is not uncommon with surnames in India as we know that the surname can be used by different communities, an example being Chauhan . Moreover, some articles present him as a member of the Ror community https://www.hindustantimes.com/brunch/pm-modi-mark-zuckerberg-all-messaged-me-says-junior-javelin-world-champ-neeraj-chopra/story-5uITOtniwhY3Ng3AMeJRhP.html . In the light of this ambiguity, I would suggest that it's best to not link him any community currently until there's an absolute proof.
- Chopra is a rather common last name in several communities. However the local reports unanimously report that he is a Ror.Malaiya (talk) 23:00, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hey Malaiya , I am aware that Neeraj is from Ror community, many people from that area who I know, have testified to this but that isn't enough for wikipedia inclusion. As per wikipedia standards, the community of a person can be listed only when he/she has explicitly admitted as belonging to the community in an interview.
- Piyushkumar911 (talk) 05:44, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
- For those who are curious, here is his grandmother, explicitly saying that they belong to the Ror community. Malaiya (talk) 20:08, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[1]
- There are numerous mentions in the press of the Ror community that Neeraj was born in. I should clarify - I have no connection with them, except as a fellow Indian. Here are some.
- The mention of caste requires self-identification in the case of living people – see here for details. So please do not add these details unless he self-identify as a Ror or some other caste. - NitinMlk (talk) 20:48, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
