Sources and development

I think the Daily Times is a reliable source and used that in first draft stub for this article. Another source is this posting, which reads well but does not seem like a conventional source for wikipedia articles. To the extent it seems factual and noncontroversial, I think a source like this is supportive of the article. Just not clear if it can be cited outright. Presumably it is secondary and repeats information that is available in more traditionally reliable sources, yet to be identified. --doncram (talk) 01:25, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Forum postings do not met the requirements of verifiability and neither does the privately hosted web page about Lahore that the forum posting regurgitates.
Newspapers may meet the needs of verifiability but do need to be handled on a case by case basis. I would suggest asking the question at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard, however in this context it is a single source and probably doesn't meet the needs of the General Notability Guideline for multiple, non-trivial treatments of the topic.
Further, reliable, sources owuld probably answer the needed questions about what constitution built the building and whether there was any particular significance about it.

Some good content about this building is republished in http://www.rurallodge.com/2NEWS/090109_Newsletter134.pdf -- see pages 3-6. --Orlady (talk) 15:41, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think your key point there is republished.

A jurisdiction issue

The sources I've seen don't constitute reliable but it looks as if this building may have been established to house a Scottish Constitution Lodge, Hope No334. If there is anything to support that then it may be of interest in the article.

the information may be wrong, as No 334 is a Lodge St John in New Cumnock. It's not out of the question that there has been a renumbering although I don't think the last one has been that recent.

Lodge Hope is No 337, not 334 as previously mentioned. It and Lodge Harmony No 485, Lodge Temperance & Benevolence No 1233, and Lodge Karachi No 1273 were domiciled in the Masonic Hall in Karachi. Source information is from the Scottish Lodges 1736 to 1950 by G Draffen. I would add that besides Scottish Constitution Lodges that met at Karachi there were also English Constitution Lodges, and probably other Orders like Royal Arch Mark, etc. All units closed in 1972 following their enforced closure by the Government, and there is no masonic activity in Pakistan. Lodge Hope is currently very active in Scotland and does a weekly Zoom meeting on a variety of Masonic topics. No Irish Constitution Lodges met in Karachi according to the Irish Masonic Records Book by Crosse. Aquizard 22:36, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
