Likely undeclared Conflict of interest

There are a number of red flags that seem to point to the fact that this article was created by a user with a conflict of interest:

  1. Single-purpose account: the user that created this has only (or almost only) contributed to this article thoughout its existance
  2. Tone: the tone of the article is quite "PR puffery" and reads like a CV more than showing balanced views
  3. Timing: the article was created in October 2015, just after the person described in the article received quite some negative publicity following the scandal of an unpaid UN intern that was sleeping in a tent and Mr Fawzi held a press conference (shown also in a documentary on the subject) where he made questionable remarks about young people working in his office as well as statements on the existence of UN rules that later turned out to be false.
  4. Possible paid contribution The account seems to be linked to a Dutch PR company

Importantly, the creator and main contributor of the page has not declared any possible COI nor made any disclosure about possible paid contributions.--Desyman (talk) 17:25, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to the elements pointing to a commissioned contribution, there is the fact that the user, after posting images downloaded from the internet - later removed for copyright infringement - has uploaded UN copyrighted images not publicly available on the internet, which raises the suspicion that the images had been received by the user from an internal UN source, possibly linked to the person subject of the article.--Desyman (talk) 23:47, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have tried to clarify this before but I would like to try again to get the CoI template removed from the page.
Pictures: the two removed UN pictures and the license to use these images can be found on the Flickr page of the UN (Geneva). My inexperience with wikipedia resulted in an insufficient reference to the source. I just submitted a request to put the photos back.

  1. Single-purpose account: the user that created this has only (or almost only) contributed to this article thoughout its existance This is correct. As I stated before in 1-on-1 interactions with some of the community, when I started actively participating on Wikipedia I believed the best way to do this was to start a page from scratch.
  2. Tone: the tone of the article is quite "PR puffery" and reads like a CV more than showing balanced views You may not like my tone of voice, but I believe the page is factual in nature.
I chose to create a page about Ahmad Fawzi because I had seen him in the context of the Libya conflict (which started in 2011) and he turned out not to have a page yet.
  4. Possible paid contribution The account seems to be linked to a Dutch PR company This is factually untrue. I work in the field of digital innovation (hence the ambition to be active on Wikipedia), I do not run nor was I every involved in any way with a PR company.
