License tagging for Image:LPHS.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LPHS.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Speedy deletion of Peter Mahon (US Teacher)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Peter Mahon (US Teacher) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. OnoremDil 19:02, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How about you make La Plata High School into a decent article?

[edit]

It is considered a disruption to add vanity material, fictional material and uncited material after being asked to stop. Please do not continue, but please do add verifiable information that will be useful and its likely you know where to find such information. Thanks David D. (Talk) 19:06, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article is entirely about the school, and the picture of the school is vanity? Why is it bad for the school's article to be expansive and informing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheSilentJanks (talkcontribs)

Your information is not much use if you can't verify it. How about you start with the SWAT story. Get a source and it can stay. David D. (Talk) 19:09, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We'll be providing sources very soon for that and everything else. The picture shouldn't require a source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheSilentJanks (talkcontribs)

It has to be notable too. John Childers' class is not. May well be the same with the SWAT story. Also can sign your posts with ~~~~ otherwise it is hard to keep track of your comments. David D. (Talk) 19:21, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Founding date

[edit]

I found a source for the school being founded in 1927. Is the picture you uploaded with the barbed wire the old school building? If you can find decent references the will end up being a good article. David D. (Talk) 19:37, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just added some more sourced material. Hopefully you can build it up from there. David D. (Talk) 21:07, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:07, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TheSilentJanks! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You may also push the signature button located above the edit window. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Below are some pages to facilitate your involvement. Happy editing! -- Kukini hablame aqui 19:08, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
