A number of terribly impressive looking roles for this gentleman, who achieves notability with none of them, particularly Chancellor of the Diocese of Manchester and President of the Lancashire Parish Register Society, whose obituary of him is one of two sources presented here, the other being a PDF of officers of the Chetham Society.
