Sam Jordison page

[edit]

Dear HarlandQPitt, Thankyou for your feedback, taken on board. I will work on it. I think as one of modern Britain's most read authors, the writer merits having a page. Thankyou...

Thanks again..I'll keep working on it....SunShiningOnWater (talk) 20:49, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

Hey do you have any suggestions on how I can improve the Mike Kerr article?

Thanks! --Stuartsanders (talk) 04:45, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again!

I'll try to re-post with more references, and it was also deleted too quickly before I could save the article.

Trampsketball

[edit]

Trampsketball is a sport on the rise but a sport none the less please stop putting it up for a fast deletion. If you watch the some of the videos under the video catergory on the page you will see it is a not fake i will change something if you are not happy with it.Jradz3 (talk) 03:35, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete of "Pacific Cartoon Academy"

[edit]

When proposing an article for speedy deletion as a hoax I find it easier to use the plain db template and include a more detailed rationalle i.e. {{db|reason}} (You can't currently give a reason with an a3 tag although I've proposed that this be changed). At the very least I'd include a reason in your edit description. Otherwise how is an admin, who may be totally unfamilar with the area, going to know for certain it's a hoax? They won't delete it without being certain and if it looks like it might be genuine they're also likely to remove the tag as was done here. Dpmuk (talk) 21:55, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I declined the speedy deletion of this page as the subject has played first-class (i.e. professional) cricket, albeit for only one game. Regards, -- Flyguy649 talk 05:14, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Baughman.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Pay attention

[edit]

Before accusing me of vandalism, you might want to bother ACTUALLY READING THE CONTENT OF MY EDIT instead of going off of the edit summary. I removed a line about cutting an armadillo in half that some Texan probably added from personal experience because being Texan is about blowing mid-sized animals in half with handguns. Then I parodied the removed line in my edit summary, which was completely trivial, but I think destroying buses is about as notable as tearing armadillos in two in a pissing contest.

Thank you for having no attention span or sense of humor. 69.105.172.180 (talk) 16:27, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize, I did not realize "Texan" is a profanity. 69.105.172.180 (talk) 16:47, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Warning vandals

[edit]

Please be careful to use appropriate warning templates when huggling, rather than just giving out the vandalism template to everyone. Specifically, in this warning you probably should have given the person {{subst:uw-talkinarticle}} rather than {{subst:uw-vandalism4}}; the incorrect warning resulted in the IP's not understanding why they were warned and why their edit was reverted, and a possibly unnecessary block from me (I just saw the vandalism warning, and it wasn't until after blocking that I ended up looking closer at what the IP had been warned for).

You may want to read WP:Vandalism, specifically WP:VAND#NOT, to get a better idea when it's appropriate to warn for vandalism (the term "vandalism" is really overused; a lot of unconstructive edits are not vandalism per se) and when it's better to do a different one. Thanks, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:28, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Huggle so I'm not totally sure how it works. I had been assuming that it let you select a warning template to give them; maybe it doesn't have talkinarticle. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 12:02, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, this band performs at the Palmilla hotel at Los Cabos on a daily basis, where John Travolta made his anniversary party last year, also the frontman of this band actually is Javier Asencio, a mega-known famous multi instrument musician born in Argentina. They have been playing on the Argentinian scene for years.Several people asks about the band after going to the Los Cabos, Mexico (Lower California) hotel Palmilla (important celebrities) so that is why I strongly believe they should be included in Wikipedia. They are getting very well known and it is important that their name appear in the FREE encyclopedia, because there's people looking for them. Speedy Deletion of The Serenaders page

[edit]

I wasn't aware of the significance criteria (A7) for pages for band and such. I just wanted to try to get an early start chronicling the band and creating a public repository for information as they've been very active over the past several months, have played a number of shows at notable venues in Atlanta, and are in the process of recording an EP. That said, I understand your finding and I won't disagree that they are not sufficiently "notable" to warrant a page at this point. I'll be back in a few months once they have a bit more of note under their belt. :) --Ecogeek (talk) 15:38, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If I want to ask an admin to userfy the page in question, should I just contact an admin at random, or is there a preferred way to make that request? Thanks for the help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ecogeek (talkcontribs) 15:56, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did not purposely vandalize the AVA page

Vandalism

[edit]

Back in February, you sent me a warning about vandalizing the 'Teacher' page. This is a mistake; I never noticed the message until today, months later, but I am not a vandal. I never even discovered Wikipedia until recently and this IP is my personal computer, not a shared one. Someone else is responsible and the written reprimand was not needed.

Leeroy

[edit]

Your citation, which is a Youtube video (which is not a reliable third-party source, and therefore invalid), only proves that she yelled her name and ran off. It does not prove that the act is, in fact, a reference to the Leeroy meme. There are many similar references in other TV shows (How I Met Your Mother, Moonlight etc etc) that are often added. However, the claim that these are, in fact, references to Leeroy has not been substantiated by a reliable third-party source (for example, by someone asking the show writer and publishing the answer in an interview). They are therefore removed. I have reverted your change again. Your good faith edit is appreciated, but unfortunately unencyclopedic. Metao (talk) 02:31, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
