Bigg Boss 6 is the sixth season of the Tamil version of the Indian reality television series Bigg Boss based on the Dutch series Big Brother and produced by Endemol Shine India (now merged with Banijay).[1] The show launched on 9th October 2022 on Star Vijay along with a 24/7 Live stream on Disney+ Hotstar.[2] Kamal Haasan has officially once again been appointed as the host for the sixth time.[3][4][5]
Unlike the previous seasons, in which Star Vijay picked particular a commoner as housemates, the sixth season features two contestants from the general public, selected via auditions open for anybody.[6][7] Dhanalakshmi and Nivaashiyni were the only general public contestants selected to participate as contestants after completing three stages of tasks successfully and selected by the Bigg Boss team.
Production
Auditions
On 25 August 2022, The makers of the show as released a promo where Raju Jeyamohan (Bigg Boss season 5 winner) announced that the general public can participate in Bigg Boss Season 6. All auditions were opened from 6pm on 25 August 2022 and closed on 4 September 2022 midnight.[8]
Eye Logo
The eye logo was officially released on 3rd September 2022.[9] The logo of the season was shaped in a oval kind of manner with a full gold brush. However a round red circle in the middle of the eye symbolizes heated arguments and a tough challenge to take place in the season.[10]
House
The House of this season had a "Diamond and Gold" theme. The house was once again located in EVP Film City, Chennai for the seventh time, including Bigg Boss Ultimate (season 1) which was also located in EVP.[11][12]
The show organizers officially released the teaser on 5th September 2022 once again featuring actor Kamal Haasan as the host for the sixth time.[13][14][15] The 2nd teaser was officially released on 10th September 2022.[16] The third teaser was released on the 27th of September 2022, officially revealing the launch date of the season which was titled as the Grand Launch Night which is set to launch on 9th October 2022.[17][18]
24x7 Streaming
On 30th September 2022, The makers of the show announced the show stands out for the fact that it will stream 24x7 live on Disney+ Hotstar and an hour-long episode every day on Star Vijay. The episodes will be first telecasted through 24 Hours Live Channel on a paid subscription to Disney+ Hotstar for only members who are subscribed and have a membership with Disney+ Hotstar.[19][20]

The show will telecast live in disney plus hotstar. The one hour episode will be telecast in Star Vijay Television at 9.30pm to 10.30pm (Mon-fri),9.30pm to 11.pm (sat,Sun). The unseen episode will be telecast in Vijay Takkar.

Only members who have a subscription with Disney+ Hotstar are able to vote to save their favorite housemate each week. Disney+ Hotstar will have a separate page for the voting process on the Disney+app itself.

- Asal Kolaar - Singer and rap artist.
- Mohammed Azeem - Television actor. Known for his appearance in TV serials such as Pagal Nilavu, Kadaikutty Singam and Poove Unakkaga.
- Robert - Choreographer and actor. He has performed as a dancer in movies such as Tamizh Selvan, Kadhal Dot Com and Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven. He also acted in multiple movies such as Dancer, MGR Sivaji Rajini Kamal and Mugilan.
- Ayesha Zeenath - Actress. She is known for her role as Sathya in the serial Sathya. She is also known for acting in other serials such as Maya, Ponmagal Vanthal and Sathya 2.
- Sheriina - Actress and model. She made her debut in the film Vinodhaya Sitham alongside actor Samuthirakani.
- Manikandan Rajesh - Television personality. He is known for his appearance in the dating reality show Mr And Mrs Chinnathirai (season 3) which aired on Star Vijay in 2019, as well as the series Azhagu. He is also the younger brother of actress Aishwarya Rajesh.
- Rachitha Mahalakshmi - Actress. Known for appearing in the serial Saravanan Meenatchi. She is also known for playing various different lead roles in serials such as Naam Iruvar Namakku Iruvar, Idhu Solla Marandha Kadhai and Ilavarasi.
- Ram Ramasamy - Actor, video jockey, model and cricketer. He appeared in TV shows in Sun Music as an anchor and acted in serials playing supporting roles.
- Dinesh Kanagaratnam (ADK) - Sri Lankan singer and record producer. Sang for films songs such as "Veera Thamizhan", "Universal Cop", "Thalli Pogadhey" and "Yennama Ipadi Panreengalaema".
- Janany Kunaseelan - Sri Lankan Tamil newsreader. She appeared in Star Tamil TV as a newsreader known for hosting 5 pm news on the channel & IBC Tamil YouTube.
- Shanthi Arvind - Choreographer and actress. She is known for her dance performance in the Tamil drama series Metti Oli which aired from 2002 to 2005. She also appeared in shows such as Kula Deivam, Kannana Kanne, and Muthuzhagu as an actress.
