Keke Palmer is an American singer, actress and producer who has received multiple awards and nominations for her work in film, television and on stage. Her many achievements include a Primetime Emmy Award, five NAACP Image Awards, a Young Artist Award and nominations for a Daytime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She first achieved recognition in the early 2000s for her roles in the television film The Wool Cap (2004), for which she was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie; becoming the youngest nominee in that category. In 2006, she played an aspiring young singer in the musical film Akeelah and the Bee, for which she achieved critical acclaim and won a Young Artist Award and a NAACP Image Award. Palmer went on to win four more of the latter for her title role in the Nickelodeon sitcom True Jackson, VP (2008–2011). The role also made her the first black woman to play a title role in a Nickelodeon series. In 2020, she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for her work co-hosting the ABC morning show GMA3: What You Need To Know with Strahan, Sara and Keke, alongside fellow co-hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines. The following year, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for her Facebook Watch parody mockumentary comedy series Turnt Up with the Taylors. In 2022, she achieved widespread acclaim for her role in the Jordan Peele horror film Nope, becoming a frontrunner for Best Actress at the upcoming 95th Academy Awards.
