- Nominator's rationale: Unnecessary sub-categorization; we don't have this for any previous years. Elli (talk | contribs) 21:23, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Delete We would need to have one for every election. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 03:11, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Delete, the articles in the category are about elections (for which there is another category), not specifically about open seats. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:32, 9 November 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: soft merge. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 16:57, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: upmerge per WP:SMALLCAT, only two articles in each of these categories. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:15, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: no consensus. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 16:58, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: consistency with existing pervasive usage of "Roman Catholic" category hierarchy and allow future expansion into "Eastern Catholic" or "Byzantine Catholic", etc. categories. Elizium23 (talk) 03:46, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose, a split by particular church within the Catholic Church results in very narrow intersections. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:56, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Delete/upmerge - there is Category:Superiors general but it is not subcatted by nationality at all. The 2 males are already in subcats of Category:Superiors general whereas the women are mostly 'Mother superior'; there is one category including the phrase 'mother superior' (a band) and none with 'mothers superior'. Creators of categories should really provide at least 2 parents. Category:African-American religious leaders might be a suitable upmerge target. Oculi (talk) 11:51, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- While I agree with merging in principle, it is not obvious that a "mother superior" belongs in a "superior general" category. A superior general is a global or regional head, while the mothers superior in this category seem to be the head of a single community. For sure Category:African-American religious leaders is a suitable merge target. Marcocapelle (talk) 14:42, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Agree entirely that 'mother superior' is not a 'superior general'; so such should be removed anyway. Oculi (talk) 16:05, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- "African-American" isn't a nationality. It's an ethnic descriptor. And all of the women included were superiors general, mostly because their communities tended to operated in only one country and with one province at the time of their tenures. natemup (talk) 22:53, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- There isn't even a split by nationality, e.g. there is no American subcategory, so a split by ethnicity within the American nationality is not appropriate here. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:32, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

- Neutral, no opinion about the various categories of African-American [Catholic/Roman Catholic] [X], but C vs RC should be consistent within this category tree if kept. Recommend these individual entries be closed a consolidated be discussion be created for the category tree. –Zfish118⋉talk 00:00, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:Crystal. If, in the future, sufficient counts of African-American Eastern Catholics emerge, then create it. Until then, leave it. Laurel Lodged (talk) 12:47, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

- Keep -- In the light of past racial prejudice and segregation it is likely that being a Black Catholic Superior General is notable in a way that being a white one is not. It is unnecessary to add Roman since Eastern Catholics are unlikely to have black superiors. The distinction Roman/Eastern is presumably more about where Americans emigrated from than any theological difference. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:53, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

- Delete / upmerge per Marcocapelle to the Superiors general category if not already in it. No indication this is a notable intersection, category is quite small, and more general categories like Category:African-American Roman Catholic religious sisters and nuns already seem to cover the relevant intersection.
