A question

[edit]

I just wanted to ask about a new article I posted few day's ago and after nearly 1 hour the alert message "This article is written like an advertisement. Please help rewrite this article from a neutral point of view. For blatant advertising that would require a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopedic, use 'a certain template' to mark for speedy deletion" appeared then I edited and changed nearly the whole text in the page seeking to be more from neutral point of view , however the alert message is still here.. Would you please help m e ,the article name is "Elsewedy Electric" , Thanks in advance.(Moro27 (talk) 08:25, 31 October 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I've re-written it now, and removed the advert tag, thanks. Top Jim (talk) 15:12, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Jim, first thanks for your fast response and the re-writing you did to the page,Second there was an alert message asking for more references to the data mentioned in the article , so i added these references , will this message alert will go away? would you please check it and tell me if these references are satisfactory or not? Thanks in advance.(Moro27 (talk) 12:04, 3 November 2010 (UTC))[reply]
They're a good start, thank you. Both references are from the company's own website: can you find some WP:Secondary references from WP:Reliable sources? Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 12:07, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Dear, kindly I have added a new references ,reliable sources and not from the company's own website.would you please check it and tell me if this is satisfactory and the alert message can be gone or not. Thanks (Moro27 (talk) 13:58, 3 November 2010 (UTC))[reply]
Hello, yes that looks a lot better thanks. Top Jim (talk) 16:00, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Draft for the article

[edit]

Hi Jim,

I just created new article devoted to my software product DigiSigner. You wrote me, that there could be conflict of interest. That's correct, cause it is my own product. In my defence I can say, that there were two reviews of my product on software web sites (see links in the article), both written by the editors of those web sites. The second point is, there are no much difference between my product and those from, say List of PDF software. Actually this list encouraged me to create my article. I did my best to design it as others from this list.

I'm ready to provide additional information about my product or somehow confirm, that everything I wrote there is correct. You wrote also that to reduce the risk of article deletion I can provide a draft first. In this case, if my article is going to be deleted, should I provide a draft on my home page User:Dmitrylak and wait till it is accepted, or how does it work?

Regards

Dmitrylak (talk) 13:39, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thanks for your contributions. I don't see anything objectionable in your article: just make sure you stick to the guidelines in WP:Conflict of interest, and it should be OK. I'll jump in there and try to improve it. I think there might also be some WP:Notability issues though. Have a read of WP:GNG, and see if you can provide some WP:Reliable, independent, WP:Secondary sources supporting the product's notability. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 13:43, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou

[edit]

Hi, thanks for the message. I notice you added some tags to the top of the page I just created. Fukpig are notable within the UK black metal scene. I will be adding more information. Blackmetalgrandad (talk) 16:32, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RNG Externalisation

[edit]

Hi, RNG-E has been published in a printed edition of iGamingBusiness magazine (Jan2010). RNG-E is not a product of a company, since it has been released to the public and is a base of work for some online gambling Regulators. The technology is quite recent and I think (just because it is company aseptic and no other similarities are found in the world) it deserves a mention in wikipedia.

thank you --Dry. (talk) 13:22, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I can find nothing showing whether iGamingBusiness is a WP:Reliable source on its own, and there's nothing else about it online apart from lots of marketing info from the company that trademarked the term, so I'm proposing the article for deletion. Top Jim (talk) 15:49, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please use speedy

[edit]

Hi, in the case of a nonsense article like this, please use CSD, specifically A7. No reason to tag with "general notability" tags when this is clearly a speedyable topic, and a likely autobiography. — Timneu22 · talk 16:50, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I always like to give them 10 minutes before speedying, especially new users, per WP:BITE. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 16:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
BITE doesn't apply. It was a nonsense page. No further needs to reply. — Timneu22 · talk 17:27, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, it definitely applied: it said "so-and-so is a famous soccer player", which is not nonsense: merely unsupported. Have a read of WP:CSD for a better definition of nonsense. You beat me to the speedy at exactly 10 minutes in though. :-) Top Jim (talk) 17:32, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The guy wasn't famous. He is 13 years old. It was an obvious vanity page. — Timneu22 · talk 00:46, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The entire text of the article, when I tagged it a few minutes after creation, was "Jack Daniel Boström is a famous soccer player." If there was something about him being 13 years old added later, then I must have missed it. It's really no big deal though: we're only talking about a vanity page being up for a few extra minutes. Top Jim (talk) 00:51, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GBIN

[edit]

Dear Top Jim, www.gbin.info now contains the most published/researched brands in the world and we now offer access to the GBIN codes. This independant GBIN number is/ can be used by researchers/analists/brandvaluation firms to exchange and link data about Brand performance, turnover, marketshare, social media activities, advertisment awards etc. I'm not sure if talk is the right way to update you about the deletion tag, but please let me know if this should be done any other way, kind regards Hans de Gier HdG (talk) 08:07, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome to post here to talk to me, but if you want to contest the deletion nomination, then the AFD discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/GBIN is the right place. Please do make your case there: it's important that your views be heard, as there may be something that I've missed. You'll find it helpful to first read WP:AFD#How to discuss an AfD and WP:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions, in order to best represent why the article should be kept. Please feel free to ask back here if you have any questions about this. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 09:13, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Top Jim, I have posted my reply on the deletion page, HdG (talk) 12:30, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Plural form as article title

[edit]

Hi Top Jim, I wrote a new article on proteins called TAL effectors a few weeks ago and made the rookie mistake of using the plural form in the title. Are you the right person to contact about getting the article title changed to the singular form since this seems to be the standard? Cheers, ScienceGeekling (talk) 15:40, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done! Thanks for the excellent article. Top Jim (talk) 15:44, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've put the following on the talk page there: "The earthquakes did actually occur. I've added http://www.annalsofgeophysics.eu/index.php/annals/article/viewFile/4032/4097 as a ref for that. However, a search for "noiembrie 19" romania Festivalul cutremur 1523 doesn't seem to give anything worth investigating. Perhaps someone could try that with a bit more attention - I'm packing for a camping weekend (with no earthquakes, I hope...)." And " "19 noiembrie " romania Festivalul "PERICOL seismice" doesn't seem any better." Peridon (talk) 19:28, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You had me laughing out loud (at work) today with your edit summary: Stalls more likely than stools. Could be wrong. Article appears to be a joke, but there's no rush to take it down yet. Have a good camping weekend. Top Jim (talk) 20:05, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rayo Withanage

[edit]

Edits

[edit]

Unless clarification can be requested, I believe this entire page be removed. This is not a bio, rather it is advertising for BMB Group which has very mis-leading statements. The subject never worked for investments banks nor has the subject invested billions nor manages billions. Therefore unless people are called to 'Clarify' this is advertising to raise money or funds under mis-leading statements. Mannuk (talk) 10:55, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thanks for your contributions. Please note that Template:Clarify is used for clarifying text that's difficult to understand. I think the tag you're looking for is Template:Fact, to indicate that references are needed to WP:Verify claims. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 11:00, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please also note that the template tags "{{ }}" are links to templates, and not for adding comments to the article. You'll notice that with edits like this, broken template links get inserted in bright red, rather than the comments that you seem to be trying for. The talk page of the article, Talk:Rayo Salahadin Withanage in this case, is the right place to put comments. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 11:23, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RAYO WITHANAGE

[edit]

The subjects Passport name is Rayo Rahula Speering Withanage. The use of the name Salahadin is not a legal name. This was done for purposes of being involved in Islamic finance.

  • Fact: Subject never worked for any Investment bank but wants readers to believe he has. (Verification of Graduation from school has been verified. The subject graduated in 2001-2002. There is no verification for a period of 1 year working or living in the United States. Sources state and claim BMB was stated with no experience other than education.
  • Fact Bio should not be just about work and BMB Group.
  • Fact Investments made are mis-leading and only verified by press statements. Not one single source has verified the press statements, however a search of those investments show no ownership by BMB Group.

In conclusion, this entire subject page should be removed because its not a bio, its advertising for the BMB group. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mannuk (talkcontribs) 11:06, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you think incorrect statements have been added, then please mark them with {{Fact|date=November 2010}}, and if no references are subsequently added to WP:Verify anything unsourced in the article, then the unsourced statements can simply be removed: have a read of WP:BLP for more info on what can and should be included in a biography article. Deletion should be a last resort though: let's try to improve the article first. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 11:27, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blessings in a Backpack

[edit]

Hi there Top Jim! I saw that you rightly tagged this article as a copyvio. I've made an attempt at rewriting it neutrally, and would appreciate it if you make any tweaks you wish. Thanks for your help, ceranthor 14:33, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, you've done a fine job on the rewrite, thank you. Top Jim (talk)

Hi, I had originally tagged John Park (musician) for A7, but I think the statement "He is the 2nd winner of the second series of Superstar K in 2010" might be construed as a claim to notability. Sticky (BLP) prod would still apply if the speedy gets declined, since according to WP:STICKY, "the BLP deletion template may be removed only after the biography contains a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article" (emphasis mine). —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:34, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you're right, thanks for spotting that. Please feel free to remove the speedy tag. Top Jim (talk) 14:35, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since the tag is already on there, I'll let an admin decide whether it qualifies under A7. I'm WLing it so if it does get declined I'll put a sticky back on it. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:42, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks. Top Jim (talk) 14:43, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ex Occidente Press article

[edit]

Hi Jim - I was looking for external references to help establish notability and can only find individual reviews of the books published by the Press. Is it worth referencing these, or would this look too much like an advert? The Press does appear to have a reputation for unreliability, but it has published a number of books by authors who appear to be of note, eg Reggie Oliver, Mark Samuels, Quentin S Crisp. I'll keep looking...Ghostlybrian (talk) 13:40, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome. Yes I had a dig and can't find any mention online of them, but I'll keep looking. Book reviews won't really help: we need to find coverage of the company itself. If you know of any offline (e.g. a profile of the company in print, in a writing or business magazine), then it could be scanned and uploaded. Let me know if you'd like help with that. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 13:43, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help and revisions. I thought it would be easy to find general references to the press. The few I have found are not always complimentary towards the delivery of books, but to use them as references would possibly be unfair. I don't know of any offline, I'm afraid. CheersGhostlybrian (talk) 13:50, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm trying to categorize it with Category:Abelian Groups and Category:Infinite Groups, but the result is invisible. What should I do? thanks, Rich (talk) 09:33, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Those groups don't exist yet, so I've used Category:Abelian group theory instead. Top Jim (talk) 09:41, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. No, I don't mind you changing the CSD reason. I saw you tagged the first incarnation as A10, but I didn't go with that myself as I didn't think it was really about linguistics - I thought it was about visual presentation. But either way it's a clear speedy candidate, so I'm happy with whatever works. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:58, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And it worked :-) -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:58, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
He's just posted his third article in Indonesian, Anasir: this time it really is an A1, but I'll give it my customary 10 minutes for good-faith stuff. I pointed out ID Wikipedia on his talk page, but maybe he doesn't read English well enough to work out what I wrote. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 13:00, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh. I always give it 10 mins for A1 and A3 tags too, but it's rare that such articles last that long before someone else gets in - we shall see. Cheers -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:05, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of nonsense biographies

[edit]

Pages like PROFFESOR DR. THANUN PYRIADI should probably be submitted for WP:SPEEDY deletion as non-notable or patent nonsense rather than WP:PROD. It's clearly garbage, and should be treated as such. Matt J User|Talk 16:08, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It didn't qualify as WP:Patent nonsense. It was a very poorly written WP:Autobiography, but it asserted that he was an influential academic in chemistry education in Iraq. It shouldn't have been speedied. Top Jim (talk) 16:11, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, guess I was a little hasty. I did it immediately after speedying another article that user had created on the same subject which truly was patent nonsense. Matt J User|Talk 17:02, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I find it hard to decipher some of the rough English that turns up in new pages myself. I'm going to try to save what I can from the better one of the two, but I suspect finding references in English will be difficult, and I don't read Arabic or Kurdish. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 17:05, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You

Simunomics Game Feedback

[edit]

Hey Jim, you marked Simunomics Game for speedy deletion, I request that it not be deleted, I realize it isn't a good article right now, but I'm working on editing it, so if you could please wait until it is finished, if you have a certain bit you dislike about it, please tell me and I will work on it the best I can, suggestion, comments, and feedback are welcome. Ackbeennon (talk) 17:48, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I didn't dislike it: I nominated it for deletion because it didn't assert notability per WP:WEB. The deleting admin was Iridescent. Try contacting them, and see if they'll undelete it and move the contents to a WP:User subpage for you to work on. For more info, please have a read of WP:Why was my page deleted?. Ken Scott

[edit]

I've suggested to HayleyDouglas that an article on the Birds book might be easier to reference, then Ken Scott can come into his own when/if the film is made or at least well on in the production. What do you think? Peridon (talk) 14:57, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think a Do the Birds Still Sing in Hell? or a Horace Greasley article is a good idea: lots of cites from WP:RS online for his story, and as you said on HD's talk page that could lead to a Ken Scott article, especially if the film gets made. Thanks for your patience and tact in dealing with this. Top Jim (talk) 15:04, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have a look at the latest between Hayley D and me on our talk pages. Thanks. Peridon (talk) 12:38, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim, Hayley here I hope I'm not out of order coming into your page but this is my first foray into wikipedia so forgive me if I'm going against protocol. I think we've established in all of the links I have sent that a. Ken Scott does exist, b. He's undoubtedly the ghostwriter behind several top selling books including Dwain Chambers (listed on WP) autobiography, and Do The Birds Still Sing In Hell and c. He has additional works of fiction which are most definitely NOT self published. I've also sent the link to an Italian publisher who stock his book as well as UK and US site links too. Today I have sent a link for MCLA (Literary agents) featuring yet another of his ghosts, for the actress Crissy Rock. Is there anything else you require. I feel we are quite close but won't count my chickens. Many thanks for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hayley douglas (talkcontribs) 11:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hayley, and thanks for your contributions. You're most welcome to post here with any questions you might have, or requests for edits, etc. The problem isn't proving that he exists, but of establishing his notability as an author. Some guidelines on what makes an author notable can be found at WP:CREATIVE and WP:BIO. I'm looking at Google News now, and there seems to be a lot of coverage of the Dwain Chambers book, including some legal issues arising, so that might be a way forward. However, I haven't found anything yet from a WP:Secondary, WP:Reliable source showing that Scott was the ghostwriter on that. Can you please point me at some interviews or profiles online, or significant coverage of the man, or a source connecting him to the Dwain Chambers book? If it's print coverage from a WP:Reliable source, I'd be happy to give a hand with scanning and uploading excerpts, if you like. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 11:32, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jim many thanks for your help, it's much appreciated. Hope these help. All link Ken Scott the ghostwriter with Dwain Chambers book.

Jim, is that okay or do you need anything else? Hayley douglas (talk) 15:39, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Guardian ref is a reliable source, but it's a pretty unflattering quote about Mr. Scott and his book, and is only a passing mention. I don't think we're there yet. Top Jim (talk) 15:43, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jim, I sent you The Guardian quote for reliability but also for balance. This article confirms Ken Scott was the ghostwriter for Dwains' book which is what you asked for?? If you look at Scott's 'review' on Amazon it isnt so much a 'review' but a defence of Mr Chambers. Mr Chambers recieves no praise in the UK press and it was very brave of Ken Scott to take on his book, he was bound to get berated from certain quarters and he did. You asked for a reliable source confirming he co-wrote the book not the views of a critic. Also, the article clearly states that Libros International is a publisher and not self published press. Surely this article answers the two questions asked by Peridan. I feel I have answered everything asked and am now rather dismayed to see the article has been removed! What next? I've spent over ten days trying to work with wikipedia and feel I have more than proven my point. What do you want next.Hayley douglas (talk) 10:10, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all your hard work on this, but I honestly don't believe Mr. Scott meets the notability guidelines based on what we've found so far. If you disagree with this, then you can contact the deleting admin (see the log for that article) and request that it be undeleted. I'm not an admin, so can't do that for you. Top Jim (talk) 10:15, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"With it", oh my, no. Simply used my febrile imagination, and extrapolated backwards from the subsequent reference to "hoes". :-) Top Jim (talk) 05:17, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hm, yes you're right, thanks. I've put a "nothanks" on the editor's page - let's see if that helps. Top Jim (talk) 11:02, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Editor has been indef-d but the article remains. My "G11 o'clock" comment was incorrect - it is still salvageable, as your own good self has pointed out - and I think a WP:PROD would not be constructive. Should we wait, say 7 days, to see if the article is improved, and then send to WP:AfD?--Shirt58 (talk) 09:56, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that sounds like a good idea. The company does seem just about notable, though we'll have to wade through a lot of PRN press release to find WP:RS to support this. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 09:59, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a good plan. AfD is not a blunt instrument to be used to beat articles into shape, but I think we should get a Hall pass in this particular case.--Shirt58 (talk) 10:51, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It might even turn out that we make the article so damn good that it won't need an AFD. :-) Top Jim (talk) 11:07, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hello jim, you deleted 2 pages that I created "angelo colella" and "marco scotini". I'm working for NABA, Nuova accademia di belle arti and the pages aren't in conflict of interest with theese pages: http://www.italstudio.nl http://www.italstudio.nl/pdf/NABA_Brochure.pdf

Because "italstudio" is one of our agency and the brochure is own property. So could you tell me how can I continue to write my pages without deleting? thank a lot CristinasimoneCristinasimone (talk) 11:08, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thanks for your contributions. I nominated the articles for deletion because they were clear breaches of copyright. Please have a read of Wikipedia:Copyright problems for more info. The WP:Conflict of interest is a separate problem: since you work for NABA, you will find it extremely difficult to write an objectively about the organization and the other people who work for it. I strongly suggest you wait for someone not directly connected with NABA to write articles on these subjects. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 11:11, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dust Rhinos

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for giving me a chance to post the entire article before speedy-ing it. I noticed, above, that you stated "I always like to give them 10 minutes before speedying, especially new users". As a new user I can't tell you how frustrated I was when earlier in the evening the same article was speedy deleted as I was writing it. (obviously I should have been using the wizard) So thanks for giving me a chance! For what it's worth this band is just a favorite of mine; I'm not in, related to, or dating anyone in the band. :) I get that just because it's notable to me doesn't mean it is to the WP guidelines. Thanks again for having diplomacy, TMoth 14:16, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

No worries, and thanks for taking two deletion nominations with such good grace. I hope this experience doesn't put you off editing: you're quite good at it. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 14:17, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome! Yes uploading files to Wikipedia isn't hard: just go to Wikipedia:Upload, where you'll find complete instructions. If you get stuck, please feel free to ask back here. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 15:24, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jim i have been unable to upload a picture but also put it on the page for F.C. Británico de Madrid. how can i pout it directly on the pages infobox?does this make sense? (Seankiki (talk) 15:30, 10 November 2010 (UTC))[reply]

What's the name of the file you've uploaded? I'll add it to the article, and you can then see how image links work by taking a look at it in "edit". Top Jim (talk) 15:34, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

wikipedia nerd bias

[edit]

hi top jim, i was hoping to discuss the deletion of the wikipedia nerd bias article. perhaps with a bit of constructive critisim this article could meet wikipedias standards. thanks, Mynamismik (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:06, 10 November 2010 (UTC).[reply]

BMB GROUP - IZO Webste

[edit]

Jim

In numerous press articles or BM it talks about IZO and the Chairman of IZO who is mentioned in the IZO website. Therefore if you read the article on BMB being awarded the Zakat Fund it references IZO and the Chairman of IZO, which also includes pictures, therefore it does not need to mention BMB as based on the AMEAN press,Wallstreet Journal, FT, and other well known publications, this link must remain as it passes the test of WIKI Mannuk (talk) 14:29, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have searched the IZO website [1] and can find no mention of BMB: where is it? Top Jim (talk) 14:33, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IZO - CEO reference to IZO Website granting the running of zakat fund to BMB

[edit]

What is wrong with the sources given all the take pages. THe CEO of IZO is mentioned in reference 14 on the page. If you read the IZO www.internationalzakat.org website you see this is he same CEO and IZO. its a good reference for all persons to ee who granted the running o the bilion dollar zakat fund.

I'll answer at the article talk page, rather than copy the conversation back and forth to here. Top Jim (talk) 14:54, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, should have linked User talk:Hayley douglas and mine's just after Peridon (talk) 15:17, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah OK. Well which would you like to do an article about first: the film or the man? I reckon the film's got a better shot. Top Jim (talk) 15:19, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The film's a bit CRYSTAL at the moment - she reckons the man could be shown as notable. If his publishers are OK (I may have been wrong about Libros...) and she can come up with the translations into foreign, he could be. Couple more days till the prod expires. If she's not good the goods by then, might have to go to AfD for a consensus. I don't like losing a possibly good writer when the footballers get away with almost anything..... (OK, I am biased.) Thanks for helping, could you help me bringing it to DYK? A intresting fact their where 750.000 bunkers built in a country of 3 miljon people! --Vinie007 13:53, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's quite remarkable. It's missing references though, so let's look for some first. Thanks, Top Jim (talk)

questions

[edit]

(Michellelarowe (talk) 05:05, 13 November 2010 (UTC)) Hi Jim,[reply]

Thanks for your note.

I do have a few questions:

I did add my name to the "notable nanny list article" and it was removed. I am interested to know then, how could I have this back added in since in fact, in my professional, I am "notable." In 2004 I received an international award for my work, a letter from the president, and have written 4 nanny related books (not self published).

On the Baby Planner article, I am confused as to why it was seen as a conflict of interest to present factual information?

Are we not allowed to write about topics we know best?

Thanks!

Hey there, I'd just like to ask why you put an 'unreferenced tag' on question dodging. It's only unreferenced because you removed my reference? And also, I can assure you the article doesn't contain any original research. --JamesDouchTalk 23:26, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I removed the references because neither of the two you used (blog entry and YouTube) are considered reliable per WP:Reliable sources. Can you please add some reliable sources supporting what's there? Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 10:01, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. How about a section just on this topic in URL shortening? Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 10:56, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds right. so shall i initiate the merge ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bugybu (talkcontribs) 11:12, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Red Rose Chain

[edit]

Hi Jim,

I am trying to post an article about Red Rose Chain Theatre and Film Company. You marked it for speedy deletion. I'm having trouble constructing the article so that it isn't taken down! Could you sugegst a few pointers? We are based in Ipswich, Suffolk, UK, which is also the home of the New Wolsey Theatre. This theatre company has a page which I am modelling Red Rose Chain's page on, but my Red Rose Chain pages keep getting removed...I'm new to Wiki, so maybe I'm doing something Wrong?

Your assistance would be much appreciated!

Warm regards,

Gippeswyk! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gippeswyk (talkcontribs) 09:44, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thanks for your contributions. There was nothing in the article indicating its WP:Notability: please have a read of WP:General notability guide and WP:Notability (organizations and companies) for more info. Please also note that as you have a WP:Conflict of interest on the subject, it will be very difficult for you to write about the subject objectively, so I'd strongly suggest that you wait for someone not connected with the to write about it. It looks notable to me though, so I'll start an article about it. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 09:54, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Amitabh Thakur

[edit]

You nominated Amitabh Thakur for speedy deletion as a repost of an article deleted after an AfD. I have declined the speedy deletion, as the article has been significantly rewritten, and has far more extensive sourcing. My own view is that it is doubtful whether there is sufficient notability, but it is not a clear-cut enough case for speedy deletion, so you may like to consider starting a second AfD. Thanks for checking. Top Jim (talk) 10:44, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
