Al Fagaa (Arabic:الفقع), also called Al Faqa, is a community of the Emirate of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Administratively it is part of the Sector 9 and is located in the southern part of Dubai.
Territory
The territory of the community occupies an area of 140.5 km²[1] which develops in a non-urban area in southern Dubai bordering the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The area is bounded on the east by Dubai Al Ain Road (E 66), on the south by the Al Ain Region (Eastern Region) of Abu Dhabi, on the west by the community of Saih Shua'alah and Saih Al Dahal and north from the communities of Grayteesah and Al Hathmah.[2]
The territory is mostly desert and partly occupied by the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve which develops in the western part of the community's territory. Immediately south of the community, across the border, is Abu Dhabi's Al-Faqaʿ village.
The area is not currently served by the Dubai Metro. However, there is a surface line (Bus 66) which runs along the Dubai Al Ain Road and connects the area with Al Ghubaiba in the Bur Dubai district. The bus makes two stops: one called Murquab Intersection in the north of the community, and one called Faqa Terminus in the south at the Al Faqa'a Police Station.[3]
