Babil Khan (born 15 May 1998)[1][2] is an Indian actor.[3] The son of actor Irrfan Khan, he began his career as a camera assistant, before making his acting debut in Bollywood with Qala.[4][5][6][7]

Early life and background

Babil was born on 15 May 1998,[8][9] in Mumbai to actor Irrfan Khan and writer Sutapa Sikdar.[10][11] He has a younger brother, Ayaan Khan.[12]

Khan completed his schooling at Tridha School, Mumbai and studied further at the University of Westminster, London.[13][14]

Khan has great interest in astronomy, music and playing guitar.[15][16] He likes singing, painting and has an eye for photography, and even possesses a passion for cricket.[17] Through the years, he has often showcased his voice and storytelling skills over social media.[18][19]

He lost his father on 29 April 2020 due to neuroendocrine cancer.[20][21]

Career

After completing his studies, he started as a camera assistant in Bollywood film Qarib Qarib Single.[22]

In 2022, he made his acting debut with Anvita Dutt's psychological drama Qala alongside Tripti Dimri.[23] He was critically acclaimed for his performance.[24]

In 2023, he was seen playing Juhi Chawla's son Siddharth Menon in a Netflix original film Friday Night Plan.[25]

He will next star in YRF's web series The Railway Men, a story on Bhopal Gas Tragedy, alongside Divyendu Sharma, Kay Kay Menon and R. Madhavan.[26] He will also star in Shoojit Sircar's The Umesh Chronicles with Amitabh Bachchan.[27][28]

Other work

In September 2023, he joined the All Stars Football Club, a celebrity football club which organizes football matches, proceeds from which go to charity.[29]
