I am a new popup user and I can't figure out how to do instant reverts. Would you be so kind to clue me in?Scottydude 22:41, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much. I really appreciate it.

Nicknames

I am trying to discuss the topic of nicknames for Rangers fc and I keep having my comments removed by another user.

Can you help ?

I see that you do have a barnstar for 'crossing the OF divide'

I wanted to discuss the possibility of adding some other common nicknames to the page Rangers FC but instead of just applying them I thought it would be proper to discuss them first. However, one user will not let me even discuss them as he personally does not like the nicknames that I am refering to.

Should other users not have their say before things are added/deleted?

Should one member be aloud to decide what should and should not be topic for discussion on a talk page?

Hope you can help, thanks!

Hello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.
Rock on.

Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.

Birmingham City F.C. has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.

Stuart McCall, Andy Goram and Richard Gough

Can you please explain why you edited out the pieces on Stuart McCall, Andy Goram and Richard Gough? Is it not fact that they chose not to play for the country in which they were born?

The point about McCall 'turning his back on the land of his birth' is factual, yet you have changed this to 'his heart eventually overcame his head, and he switched to Scotland.' There is no citation for this and it is pure speculation. There's no need to let the truth get in the way of a good story though, as we've found before with your amendments to 'History of Rangers FC.'

As for your assertion that the changes were badly worded, don't be so silly. If you can't find a proper reason to delete something I have written, don't insult my intelligence by denouncing my considerably superior linguistic skills. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scaitch Trinita (talkcontribs)

could we come to an agreement or comprimise on celtics noteable palyer?

Backpass Bazza

I am only editing it to include known facts about the said professional footballer to include a more broad perspective. The vast majority of his passes are backwards or to the side and generally hamper any attacking moves as evident by his many displays in Scotland and Blackburn colours. As a result, I am forced to conclude that it is indeed you who is vandalising the Barry Ferguson page by unincluding these commonly held views by a vast majority of Scots and football fans in general. PS: Backpass and Sideways Barry are two common names for the said professional footballer. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.41.236.119 (talk) 20:41, 28 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

The discussion of adding nicknames to Rangers F.C.

In your opinion it is inappropriate. Are we not supposed to discuss these things, giving the entire community a chance to voice their opinions? Are you the owner of this page? (Rangers F.C.) Are you or Dudeswiper in charge of this page?

I believe that you are stopping discussion. I believe that to be against Wiki policy. I could have just added the nickname but instead I chose to discuss the potential addition. You will not even let me do that......

I appreciate your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.113.199.109 (talkcontribs)

Nacho Novo

Quite why you feel the great man's acting talents should be ignored, is a question I feel even you, with your above-genius intellect, can't answer.

Trigger's Spanish cousin for ever!!!!!!!!

What do you honestly think will impress his grandkids more? Appearing in an all-time classic sitcom adored by millions, or playing for a well-supported pub team?

Rangers FC

Ab99,

!!!

If you doubt the veracity of my addition please seek other sources (a quick Google search should suffice). I am happy for you to edit my contributions but I think that you have been draconian about this.

Please revert or I will raise a complaint about you.

Please look at the following link:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/sportscotland/asportingnation/article/0047/print.shtml

I am assuming from all the discussion on this page that you are in fact a Rangers fan and should not be protecting the editing of this page. If you do not revert to the version I last left I will take this further.

Sincerely- K02 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kenneth02 (talkcontribs) 11:06, 12 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

AIV

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you!

I'm talking about the deletion concerning nicknames for Rangers FC and their fans. Are you claiming that I am inaccurate when I state the most common nickname for Rangers among SPL fans is 'The Huns'? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kenneth02 (talkcontribs) 17:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fair enough. I can see the point in that. Although I would argue that surely you will wax partizan when you are reviewing edits of the Rangers page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenneth02 (talkcontribs)
We both know that 'The Huns' is the most common nickname for Rangers. That is fact- despite the quite correct assertion on your part that it is less than affectionate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenneth02 (talkcontribs)
I can understand the need for the policy, but I think that it means we are missing some information on the pages. Do you agree? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenneth02 (talkcontribs)
I agree, but I don't know if we're honouring the ethos of wikipedia with this policy. Conservative descriptions should not be the aim of wikipedia in my opinion. I can get that in any book encyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenneth02 (talkcontribs)

I beg to differ but i fail to see how it is vandalism i am merely stating facts. It will be re-edited and if you revert it i will report YOU for vandalism

Joseph Borovsky

Hi there; I have not amended your tag, but for the record Dr Joseph Borovsky is indeed a real life physicist employed at Los Alamos. I wonder, in view of the very poor quality of the article but in the light of its essential factuality, whether {{prod}} might be better than {{db-bio}}?--Anthony.bradbury 00:04, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Football AID 25 March - 1 April

Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.

Wembley Stadium has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.

Ibrox Stadium

My amendment to the Ibrox Stadium article is not vandalism. The reference to Castle Grayskull is accurate and verifiable, and does not breach copyright. It may be considered offensive by Rangers fans but that does not make it unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopaedia. I have consulted several regular users of Wikipedia on this and they agree with me unanimously. There is even a reference to this on the Wikipedia page on Castle Grayskull. If that has been deemed suitable for inclusion on that page, then there is no rational justification not to include it on the Ibrox Stadium page too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Youngdegsy (talkcontribs) 17:39, 28 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Thanks for your reply. However, I do disagree with you and will have to take this to dispute resolution using the formal procedure. This revisal is not unsuitable, as you suggest. I note that you didn't comment on my point about the Castle Grayskull page. One of the main purposes of Wikipedia, or indeed any encyclopaedia, is to provide relevant, factual information. Ibrox is known as Castle Grayskull by fans across Scotland. Whether a reference to it would be unusual or not, or even unique, is scarcely relevant. To suggest that this is neither notable nor encyclopedic is, with respect, a clear indication of bias. Youngdegsy 18:12, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
