Assess : newly added and existing articles, maybe nominate some good B-class articles for GA; independently assess some as A-class, regardless of GA status.
Cleanup : * Sport governing body (this should-be-major article is in a shameful state) * Field hockey (History section needs sources and accurate information - very vague at the moment.) * Standardize Category:American college sports infobox templates to use same font size and spacing. * Sport in the United Kingdom - the Popularity section is incorrect and unsourced. Reliable data is required.
* Fix project template and/or "to do list" Current version causes tables of content to be hidden unless/until reader chooses "show."

@SportsFan007: Are they covered by the local media? (They are covered by the St. George paper.) Do you have a source that says Mesquite is part of the Metro? There is no mention of Mesquite in Las Vegas–Paradise, NV MSA (the government based definition) and they are definitely not part of the Las Vegas Valley (the traditional definition of the Las Vegas area). The city is 80 miles away, it is a very large county (and Mesquite is in two counties for that matter, one of which is not included in the defined Statistical area). Not having it listed would be equivalent to why the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs and Phantoms have been removed from Template:NYC Metro sports even though Allentown is defined by the government as part of the New York metropolitan area#Combined Statistical Area. @SportsFan007: No worries, it was a fair question as all of Clark County is in the statistical definition. Mesquite just isn't in the media coverage definition of Las Vegas as none of local papers cover it currently. However, if the Desert Dogs do start generating Las Vegas coverage, I see no problem in adding it then. Yosemiter (talk) 20:09, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting, but the mayor's own statement is a bit telling: "We’re never going to be Las Vegas" in regards to bringing business to Mesquite. Several other statements he makes comparing his town to Vegas also seem to indicate they are not influenced by the rest of the Metro. (Another interesting thing I found: Las Vegas metropolitan area redirects to Las Vegas Valley, so others seem to feel the Valley represents the Las Vegas area and not some government population monitoring statistic. There is not much consensus, but it has been discussed a couple times.) Yosemiter (talk) 04:17, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
