@Obi2canibe: Does this not work? SinhalaLion (talk) 13:42, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@SinhalaLion: Yes but that's not the source I had issue with. The Cynthia Brown source to cite that the Anuradhapura massacre was retaliation for the Valvettiturai massacre needs account to access. Quotation isn't good enough, other readers need to verify it. I will remove.--Obi2canibe (talk) 15:49, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Obi2canibe: Here is the source in a format that all can see. SinhalaLion (talk) 16:14, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SinhalaLion: Thank you.--Obi2canibe (talk) 16:18, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Obi2canibe: On that topic: if I had a source to which most people wouldn't have easy access, like an old newspaper report, would I not be to cite that? Or would I need to upload it somewhere to show that it's legitimate? SinhalaLion (talk) 16:20, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SinhalaLion: See last paragraph at WP:CITE - you can cite reliable sources without links or access but if challenged, as in this case, you should be able to do one of the things mentioned in the last paragraph. But in this instance you were able to provide an accessible link which is excellent.--Obi2canibe (talk) 16:27, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
