Merge

[edit]

It is suggested that the associated page 4th Academy Awards nominees and winners be merged into this one combining all information about the awards for this year on one page as in most of the articles about other Academy Award years. Thanks for your comments. Markhh (talk) 20:43, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Academy Awards which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 13:17, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What does this statement mean?

[edit]

The article states: Cimarron was the first Western to win Best Picture, and would remain the only one to do so for 59 years (until Dances with Wolves won in 1990). It received a then-record seven nominations, and was the first film to win more than two awards. What does the section in bold mean? Other films before this have won two awards, as far as I recall. So, perhaps I am not understanding what this statement is trying to say? Does anyone have any idea? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 19:20, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
