Private

I hope after the last year you've come to trust me. I have an issue concerning an article that I'd like to keep private until necessary. Is there a way we could talk privately? The Filmaker 02:51, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion on Zelda Oracle articles

Hi, Deckiller, haven't talked with you in quite a while. It's been far too long since I've worked on getting an article featured, so I've picked two of the weakest Zelda articles to work on: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (diff so far) and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (diff so far). The main focus of my work so far has been on the Development section, which I think is in quite good shape now. Naturally, one can't discuss the development of one game without covering the other as well, so these sections are practically identical now, and I expect they will stay that way. Further, I expect large portions of the Gameplay and Reception sections will be redundant in the final product as well. Do you think the two articles should be merged? I can see the benefits of it, but it still feels strange. Further, there are articles for The Legend of Zelda: Mystical Seed of Courage, the canceled third game, and The Legend of Zelda: The Triforce Trilogy, the working title for the original plan of three titles. The development section I've created for Seasons and Ages covers these two subjects pretty well; I'd redirect the articles if I knew to which one to point. If the articles were merged, it wouldn't be an issue. By the way, I'd appreciate it if you could help copy edit the Development section, you do an excellent job with such articles. Looking forward to your input, Pagrashtak 05:56, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anonymous user posting on Godfather deletion page

I just posted what's below this on the user talk page of the anonymous user who's been posting in support of my position on the AfD for The Godfather films in popular culture. I thought I'd save you the trouble of checking over there. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) 06:27, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm. You're wondering if this person is my sockpuppet, aren't you? Will you take my assurances that he or she is not? -- because that's the truth. I, too, was struck by the fact that the only editing from this address has been to the nomination for deletion of my article, but I haven't a clue what it means -- however it certainly does look like someone who would prefer not to be identified in this debate started using this anonymous format specifically for posting on this particular issue. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) 06:14, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

I've been online for 22 years now, and I've never been even slightly tempted towards sockpuppetry. (Oh, once upon a time, way back during the OJ Simpson trial, on the CourtTV discussion board on AOL I posted simultaneously under my own name and a second one, but I used the second to post satires and parodies and non-sequiturs and the like, and never had any interaction between them. Besides the names I was using were similar ("edfitz" and "unfutz") which to me seemed transparently obvious. That's not sock-puppetry, though, that's just having a good time.) Anyway, you don't know me from Adam, and we seemed to be aligned on opposite sides of this current issue, but you have my word that the anonymous uses isn't me, or anyone not me that I've put up to supporting me.

Hey -- I wonder if a comparison of the post times for Anonymous and myself would provide me with an alibi? I'm pretty sure I was working away on the "Broadway theatre" article for quite a while when I checked the AfD and found a post from Anon there. On the theory that I can't be in two places at once... Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) 06:27, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just checked the IP address (172.206.217.17) and it's AOL, which is not particularly good for me, since AOL is my home service. (Although since I switched from dial-up to DSL I actually go online through Verizon here in New York.) Shit, even worse, I could conceivably be online simultaneously on dial-up and DSL.
I'd better stop investigating before I convict myself -- but, truly, it's not me or mine. (Actually, I'd be considerably happier having a legitimate registered user supporting my opinion rather than an anonymous one.) Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) 06:38, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, MIT, my sort-of alma mater. (I spent a single semester there before dropping out and going into theatre instead.) I'll give the MIT/popcult article a look. Thanks. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) 06:41, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats on the Music of FFVIII GA

It's well deserved. Drop by my talk page and let me know when you put it up for FA-class. Cheers, Lankybuggerspeaksee15:01, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Ultimecia deletion

Hey, Deck. I'm just querying if the Ultimecia article's talk page should be deleted, since the info on the said article had been merged and the said article itself had been redirected to the FA-listed Characters of Final Fantasy VIII (congratulations by the way!) Bluerです。 なにか? 18:14, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FFXI

Hey, I'm sorry. I really have been scarce lately. I should have some time soon to start really pushing at this article. Probably next week, sometime. -RaCha'ar 23:52, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FFVI

Deckiller said: Hi. Why did you delete the formatting of the FF6 talkpage? It was not causing any glitches.

Hi there. I didn't in fact remove any formatting from the page, I formatted the page in order that the box which was surrounding all the infoboxes disappeared, and that the Talk page, Featured Article, and Wikiproject boxes were in their natural order without being surrounded by a giant text box. Something to do with my screen resolution, I think.

Probably my fault for having a computer more than five minutes old, but, sometimes that's life! :D Bobo. 03:19, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I've been talking to Ned Scott and he has given me his assurances that the 3RR was done in a moment of annoyance and that he has no intentions of editing the related articles again. If it's okay with you, I'd like to end the ban early as he is a pretty decent member of this community. Thanks. Sasquatch t|c 05:09, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

  • Thanks for voting in my RfA. I've decided to withdraw my acceptance because of real WP:CIVIL concerns. I will try again later when I've proven to myself and others that my anger will no longer interfere with my abilities as a Wikipedia editor. Thanks again, and I'll see you around here shortly. :) JuJube 04:47, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have time to browse my comments at Wikipedia:Featured article review/Yellowstone National Park and/or lend a hand? The text is close, but not quite there, and I wasn't sure on some things. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 12:13, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spare a minute?

There's a bunch of FARs that have only received a look from one person... Guess everyone got scared away. Marskell 13:02, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FFXII setting

Some IP keeps coming back and remove the Star Wars influence, which is cited, and some things about the setting being "more predominantly Arab culture", which has no citation, in the Final Fantasy XII article! I reverted it, but I sense an edit war and do not want to be a victim of the 3RR rule. Please, can we like, protect the article, a request of protection per chance? Bluerです。 なにか? 15:47, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your swift action, Deck =D. This IP 70.146.72.208 was also used by the user. Bluerです。 なにか? 23:16, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IP block

Exactly why did you block my IP? I made two reversions and a single deletion. And what do you mean sock puppet lol get over it, sometimes I don't like to log on and find it more conveniant to make minor edits through IP. I find it funny how you like to rave "Kara Umi I know its you! Stop socking!"... -Kara Umi Kara Umi 23:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Except I didn't "come back" with a different IP, I connected to wikipedia as I've always done. There was no circumvention no attempts to edit with a parallel IP address, its well known IP's especially AOL users are erratic. The fact that you didn't block blue for the same "accused" violation is an example just how biased you are in this case like you said "I'm the minority against a large pool of editors"...

I'm finding it pointless to address this issue with you so I'm not going to.

Oh and its not up to you to make the assessment of what my "history" is. - Kara Umi Kara Umi 23:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New template

Cool! Why does it come out so skinny on my talk page? Can you fix it for me? Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:19, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of Wii games

Hey there Deckiller,

I've noted that you've contributed before to the List of Wii games. Just wanted to let you know that the list is getting ready for Featured status and is currently undergoing a Peer Review. If you can take a moment to look over the article and add your suggestions/comments for improvement here, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks! -Digiwrld1 21:56, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

LuciferMorgan said you are an excellent copyeditor... and I have seen your name splashed everywhere across WP (at FARC etc.).. we are working on Taiwanese aborigines for a move to FAC in the near-to-middling future... I wonder if you would be available to offer comments as a review, or perhaps some of your copyediting skill, etc.?

I deeply appreciate your time & trouble!

This request: "Hey Deckiller, when you have time, can you copyedit the entire Wikipedia? Thanks, man. ;)" by Mahanga shows you're one of our best copyeditors. Because of this, I think you deserve the newest barnstar on Wikipedia as of 20:22, 3 April 2007 (UTC). · AO Talk 20:22, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. Yes, I am thinking about working on another article. We're going to start another collaboration soon (probably on AoE II), so I'll work on that, and I'll see if I can fix up Rise of Nations. Also, I'm helping another couple of users with AoE III. What about you? · AO Talk 22:05, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Input needed

I was wondering if you could look at the Star Fox: Assault page, specifically the story section. A couple weeks ago, a user removed all the refs that went in that section. I asked him why, his response is at User talk:Piemanmoo#Refs removed. The section looks silly with no refs in there now, so I wondered if he was correct in removing them? Thanks. Thunderbrand 17:23, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I appreciate it. Thunderbrand 23:35, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
