Rice festival, pahiyas

I added 2 links to expand and support this:www.gmanews.tv/video, iWitness: Ang kuwago ng Pahiyas, 05/27/2008manilatimes.net, Harvesting Pahiyas, A rice festival in the midst of a food crisis--Florentino floro (talk) 11:19, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thoughts on Political Names

[edit]

I've long contemplated the need to have lists of individual government officials absent from this page, or at least not so prominently displayed. My thought process for this is rather simple: Me, as a random visitor and person in love with the city and surrounding area, I think it's nothing short of self-aggrandizement, in essence, who actually cares! Now this may seem like a harsh statement, and I absolutely do not want to start a flame war, I want constructive thought, but what purpose does it serve? This is what 'gov.ph' exists for yes? Certainly if we dig on the IP addresses for these edits, they routinely link back to to the same individuals that are named. Many historical edits to this page have been political in nature, particularly come election time. Thoughts from others on this are most welcome, though given the ferocity and self-importance these figures can sometimes possess, I would suspect not a single one of them would provide any insightful feedback. I suspect the only real option is to fill this page to overflowing with interesting information and pictures about the area.

To Florentino Floro above, excellent find! :-) Dchky (talk) 09:57, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
