@Metron: I don't understand what you are trying to say. How can it be written in "different regional forms" plural? It is a singular work. Originally it was written in just one form, surely. The fact that different manuscript copies are written in different regional forms is irrelevant. The Encyclopedia of the Medieval Chronicle article cited says that it is a "world chronicle in Middle Low German, with High German versions". Srnec (talk) 23:32, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The different forms of language of the Sächsische Weltchronik were not "vernaculars"! At that time there was no highly standardized form of High, Central or Low German in opposite to "vernacular" forms. There were different local or regional forms of language more or less in the process of standardization. Middle High German was already more standardized at that time than Middle Low German or Middle Central German. Without a standardized literary form, the term "vernacular" MAKES NO SENSE!
