It is not just one 08/15 airshow. It was the biggest in europe, for this event the swiss post made extra stamps, swissmit extra 25Fr coins, it was broadcastet live on swiss TV and Internet, Speial never before shown programparts. The Books (eg Uno Zero Zero) and Magazins where printet for this unique airshow). It was a celebarting for 100 Years swiss air force , 50 years ptrouille Suisse and 25 years PC-7 Team at once. It is not possibel to bring all the informations about this airshow into the existing page about the swiss air force. This articel is well structured, contains a lot of informations and a detiled programm.FFA P-16 (talk) 18:34, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Listening the Teams?

[edit]

Looks like some think, it is too much to listen up the whole displayprogramm from each day. What about just listen up the Dislay Teams (Red Arrows, Patrouille France,..)? FFA P-16 (talk) 18:38, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Listing the teams is OK. MilborneOne (talk) 18:41, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK, Thank you. I had first written /startet the article about the Air14 in the German speaking wikipedia. With all the informations about the everyday programm. In the German language wikipedia this is not seen as problem or as too many informations.. so I created it here too with all this informations. It looks like in the english language wikipedia is this too much. So I was now asking about the teams. I knew ther are diffrend roul in the differen language versions of wikipedia, so please don't see this as disrespectful that I had addet the whole programm of the airshow.FFA P-16 (talk) 18:57, 3 February 2017 (UTC).[reply]

Original Research and loose sentences

[edit]

continued as predicted: My edit [1] was correct for Wikipedia and a clear improvement of the article as the article now reverted in the version of FFA P-16 doesn't even mention the month it took place(!) (giving false impression as "mid-2014" would be July, not September). This is instantly and exactly fulfilling my prediction of being easily offended instead of improving an article.

Me and the The Banner agree that the claim of the biggest airshow is not prooven; visitors count in Payerne is multiple entrances - I don't know how they count at Fairford but there were 220 aircraft there and possibly more than Payerne.

Other problematic original research is the critics part: Based on parlamentary protocoll, these claims, especially the last sentence of the first part are wild speculations - possibly of the wiki author and if it was said elswhere; where?--2A02:1206:45A8:BC00:59C7:2F41:438D:9C80 (talk) 11:46, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We have a good surce for this : It was the biggest airshow in Europe.[1]. May people don't like the style of Blick, but it is anwidespread newsportal one of the biggest in Switzerland. it is notable enough.FFA P-16 (talk) 15:46, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That you find it notable enough is one thing, but it is well known that your opinion about important and notable is not standard in the wider community. But your great source contains one hear, one subheader (with the contentious claim), 2 photos with caption and one sentence. No evidence at all why the subheader should tell the truth as the article has no relevant content. The Banner talk 19:22, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ow, and spend some time reading WP:RS. That is indeed a piece over reliable sources... The Banner talk 19:39, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Even worse was the section about the history where the user wrote an essay about his own knowledge instead of looking for facts. Sorry, that was very poor. I corrected the worst false claims such as the first big show being held in 1994 where there was the first in 1991 and so on.--2A02:1206:45A8:BC00:A9B8:2188:8885:E007 (talk) 23:34, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Biggest airshow

[edit]

The lead contains the statement It was the biggest airshow in Europe.[1][2][3]

  1. ^ Baumann, Fotos: Dominik. "Die grösste Flugshow Europas: Fliegen Sie über die Air14 - Blick".
  2. ^ https://www.miles-and-more.com/online/portal/mam/ch/program/news/detail?nodeid=2107854767&l=de
  3. ^ "Warum Oldtimer-Fans an die Airshow (AIR14 Payerne) pilgern sollten (Oldtimer-Blogartikel vom 04.09.2014)".

In my opinion, all three sources fail WP:RS and the whole statement should be removed. The Banner talk 20:48, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, I dont have a reliable source at the moment but RIAT is normally the biggest airshow in Europe, so it would have go some to be "bigger". MilborneOne (talk) 21:30, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
removed the poorest sources. I don't know how they count at Fairford but there were 220 aircraft at Fairford that year which is quite possibly more than at Payerne. The visitors count may also differ; entrances or visitors?--2A02:1206:45A8:BC00:A9B8:2188:8885:E007 (talk) 23:36, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The Royal International Air Tattoo official is only on 2 days, in 2014 RIAT was official opened for 3 days 11–13 July. Fly in of the Air14 was on the 28 August. 29. August was the training day (free entrance, no Ticket needed). 30 & 31 August was the first big part (ticked needed) from Monday 1.september to Friday 5 September was on each day an airshow with minimum 5 parts. for this days no ticket was needed. The second big part was 6& 7 September (ticked needed). So from the 29.August to the 7. September (9days) was on every day an air display with Several participants (total 184 flying-displays,= 50h flying-display time[1] ) . FFA P-16 (talk) 09:36, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Being the longest during air show is not the same as being the biggest air show. The Banner talk 10:19, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

But logical that it is also the biggest, you can not squees 184 flying display, 50h of flying display time, into 3 days. Also in the 9 days a good bunch of the aircraft in the static display changed.FFA P-16 (talk) 10:31, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We don't work with your logic, we work with facts based on reliable sources. The Banner talk 10:53, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I knew you have some problems with logical things. But facts on reliable sources are given already and in enough numbers who clearly say that it was the biggest airshow in Europe. This is just an excuse of you because it is not possible to squees 184 flying display, 50h of flying display time, into 3 days. Also this flying display s cover solodemonstrations of 1 aircraft up to Teams with 6-10 aircraft and the finaly formation of 24 F-5 is more than the ones at RIAT FFA P-16 (talk) 11:22, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
read the two statements of FFA P-16 and find pure original research. It doesn't help to link to some picture galleries that state this in the header as now (again!) done in the article.--Caumasee (talk) 23:02, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
