What about South America?
[edit]Why only North America? Why is South America excluded, considering French is spoken in French Guiana, as well as creoles there and also in Brazil?
From what I can tell, only Metropolitan French is spoken in French Guiana, which wouldn't constitute a variety, but don't the creoles deserve a mention?
Once some references are added to this article to properly define the term, we should be able to clear up this confusion then.
