[edit]

7.28. The Army will be designed to operate globally on a persistent basis. A new Ranger Regiment will be the vanguard of this expeditionary posture as part of an Army Special Operations Brigade. This Regiment’s four all-arms units will be aligned with the new Divisions of Infantry and initially seeded from the current Specialised Infantry Battalions: 1 SCOTS, 2 PWRR, 2 LANCS and 4 RIFLES.

7.29. In addition, a new Security Force Assistance Brigade will be established.

You're literally proving yourself wrong. It doesn't say that the SOB will be part of the SFAB. That doesn't even make sense; how can a brigade be within a brigade? – SɱαɾƚყPαɳƚʂ22 (Ⓣⓐⓛⓚ) 00:09, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change proposal

[edit]

According to the British Army's website, the Specialised Infantry Group has been redesignated as 'The Army Special Operations Brigade'. See here. The structure is described as 'four ranger battalions' and the 'JCTTAT'. However, this is a primary reference.

Though, I propose the title of the page changes to Army Special Operations Brigade (United Kingdom). J-Man11 (talk) 13:40, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Annex: further non primary ref for name change here. J-Man11 (talk) 03:39, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SmartyPants22 you're opinion on the name change? J-Man11 (talk) 02:55, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support Go ahead. – SɱαɾƚყPαɳƚʂ22 (Ⓣⓐⓛⓚ) 19:36, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'm back. Now I'm slightly worried, should the suffix (United Kingdom) be added? I'm sure there are other 'Army Special Operations Brigades' out there? Or at-least a redirect? @Dormskirk @SmartyPants22 your thoughts? J-Man11 (talk) 14:46, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@J-Man11: As long as there are no other pages on Wikipedia with the same name, no disamb is needed. – SɱαɾƚყPαɳƚʂ22 (Ⓣⓐⓛⓚ) 15:22, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Might be a good idea, from a quick search, there are "Special Operations Brigades" in Chile, China, Romania, Serbia, the Star Wars Universe and the PC-gaming world. (fyi) - wolf 15:26, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The special operations brigades for these other countries seem to be naturally disambiguated by regimental numbering or by being named after a historical figure (in the Chile instance); see links for the brigades in Chile, China, Romania, Serbia so we might be able to get away without disambiguating for now.
