Might a non-member ask why the image of the first issue of the original series has been targeted for "Speedy deletion"? Seems to me that this is a legitimate usage of such an image in the Wikipedia context. ---- Dwight Williams —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.197.138.51 (talk) 14:14, August 23, 2007 (UTC)

Wikiepedia needs permission for any images. If there is no permission, then the image is deleted to prevent copyright violations. WP:C --statsone 04:52, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hit me?

[edit]

The article says, "the issue has still not hit the shelves." As of when? Trekphiler 05:16, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The last paragraph is very point of view.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.57.165.35 (talk) 22:28, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Marvel/Alpha Flight Statement

[edit]

The statement that Marvel wanted Captain Canuck might be true, it can't have happened as stated. Guardian, then known as Weapon Alpha, appeared before (X-Men V1 109, 2/1978) Alpha Flight even existed (X-Men V1 120, 4/1979).

Limited availability of one of the issues?

[edit]

I recall reading that one of the early issues of Captain Canuck is rare because a warehouse fire or flood destroyed most of Comely's stock of that issue. I think this incident is actually referenced in an editorial note of one of the issues, if someone wants to check. 70.72.211.35 (talk) 04:40, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Relation to Captain America?

[edit]

It's so obvious it's a Canadian copy of Cpt. America, but should it be mentioned in some trivia? Was Cpt. America an inspiration? Or was it the other way around?--92.114.148.141 (talk) 20:48, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Guardian similarities

[edit]

The character of Guardian from Marvel's Alpha Flight bore very close physical resemblance to Captain Canuck (in fact when the title was first announced I assumed it WAS Captain Canuck being imported). I saw a comment above saying Marvel wanted CC as well. Was there ever any controversy over this? Did Comely have to make any changes when he revived the character later? 23skidoo (talk) 23:07, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
